This was our second visit and will return again on next visit to the central coast. The food was so fresh, so delicious and presentation lovely. One of the best Japanese restaurants we have been to. Our server was friendly and polite and we both...ate every morsel of our food. You won't be disappointed and parking was easy in a free lot next to the old train station.More

Goshi Restaurant, Paso Robles, has always been a favorite spot! Chef Owner Yugo, and Staff, went over and above, last Saturday night. A close to a perfect Sushi meal as I have in my lifetime, enjoyed. Heavenly.

Best sushi we have ever had! We spent two days wine tasting in Paso Robles and had dunner here our last night. Four of us, who have enjoyed sushi in the SF Bay Area and elsewhere for many years concurred that this place is great!...A few blocks from town center, but worth the short walk.More

My family has been coming to Goshi’s since they first opened. In fact my late father helped them invent the “Robert Roll” that is still on the menu today. Goshi’s has always been the gourmet of sushi restaurants in Paso, meaning they had above and...beyond what other sushi restaurants had. But let me tell you tonight our family of four was so disappointed. Taste was still great, but the portion sizes were laughable. First off the Kumamoto oysters they served were $28 for six and they were no bigger than a nickel! I’ve never had such small oysters in my life. The sashimi plate was 10 pieces for $42 and they were such slim pieces, the rolls were half the size they used to be and again double the price. Our bill was $175 and we could have easily ordered everything twice over and not been full…. So sad to see yet another great restaurant turn completely outrageous and touristy. We won’t be going back anytime soon.More

Ok outdoor dining experience. I like the rice bowls and the rolls. I wish they had more combo meals.

Our family had dinner at Goshi recently. The food was typically outstanding; unfortunately, the service was not up to the usual standard. We had an order of shumai and the special gyoza for an appetizer. These were each very good. For dinner, my wife had...the California roll; my son the rainbow roll. They waited in anticipation of the the ginger and wasabi, which did not arrive. Finally, i had to flag down our server, who apparently did not think to provide this. With sushi? My daughter had the udon and a side of vegetable tempura. Her intent was to have the tempura accompany the udon; she waited and waited; again, I had to flag down the server, who forgot to check that this item was delivered. She ate the tempura after she had her udon; she really enjoyed both, but annoying to have to wait for the tempura. Finally, I had the broiled black cod with miso sauce; I waited and waited for rice; again, i had to flag down the server and request a bowl of rice. All in all, good food as always, but perhaps we had a new waiter; anyway, hope he is up to snuff by our next visit.More

A Goshi lunch was a great way to end 2019! In addition to our regular entrees, we had their seasonal mushroom soup (served in a teapot, containing both broth and other contents that get fished out after the broth is finishes), and an order of...the stuffed shitaki tempura mushrooms - - both very delicious. Great service, food and atmosphere!More

Consistently excellent food, friendly service, and a comfortable setting (with free parking), Goshi is our favorite place for Japanese food. We find that more food is included in their lunch and dinner combinations as compared to other restaurants that are primarily a la carte. Highly...recommended!More

I am not a huge sushi fan and I avoid lobster tails, but Goshi’s in Cambria, Ca. earns a Jim’s Gem 💍for its lobster roll and more!!! After dropping car in Paso Robles from trip to Hearst Castle, we went to a Amtrak station to...wait for train to LA. Wine tasting restaurant closed, so Goshi was last lunch option. What a surprise.!!! Warm welcome, immediate service, and skyscraper high five for food. Three page menu of sushi and other Japanese lunch dishes. I thought I was getting a lobster roll (a favorite) and side of sushi. It was titled “Japanese Popcorn Roll with avocado-lobster sushi rolls.” My wife went veggie tempura and egg roll For me, out comes a plate of 8 lobster-avocado sushi rolls with tail filled with popcorn lobster sitting on top. Waitress explanation: popcorn was deep fried lobster bits in a special lobster sauce and then baked over the ample chunks of butter in your mouth tender lobster chunks. I avoid lobster tail because often chewy. This tail was as tender as could be with the added flavor of the popcorn dressing. Savored all except for piece my wife snitched and agreed on my assessment of tasty and tender! We each saved half of our sushi rolls for on the train dinner. Well worth the wait and avoidance of the dining car. (that’s a different review for the meals we ate on the move!) Paso Robles is a hidden wonder of a town with 300 and more coming vineyards on the east side of the San Julie range. Most people bypass it as they drive via Highway 1 on the Mts. Westside. Beauty exceeds Napa. Wine coming along and Goshi is worth a stop!.More
