Great food, great wine and great atmosphere. The calamari is to die for! Unpretentious but really a high class operation.

Excellent fish dishes - but salad was weak. Restaurant felt busy, short staffed and the waiters overworked! But the quality of the the main fish dishes made up for everything!

We had calamari for an appetizer with seafood dip and tartar sauce. The sea bass was well cooked and was flaky. It was served with crispy baked potatoes and vegetables. My husband enjoyed the Cioppino and had leftovers to bring home. Staff was attentive. When...we arrived at 4 pm and the restaurant was near empty and we had our pick of tables.More

Crowded, but comfy. Noisy but very friendly. The seafood, though, wow! very good! I had the scampi and scallops with linguini. Perfectly al dente and the shrimp were not over cooked. The scallops were just pink/opaque in the middle-- just how scallops are supposed to...be cooked and served. My wife had the blackened salmon-- she finished the whole thing! (she rarely does that). I asked about the wines to accompany the meal the server samples of 2 different wines! In short, if you want to have a quiet, romantic evening or a business meeting where you want to discuss some important issues, this is NOT the place for you. But if you want perfectly cooked seafood dishes in a very relaxed, family friendly atmosphere, drop on by!More

One of our favorite places to eat in Paso Robles. Everything runs like clockwork, good service, and good food. We ordered a Shrimp cocktail, Escargot, Fresh oysters, a Mini Filet Mignon, Fettuccine and catch of the day, and everything was perfect. We cannot say enough...about this place, if you are in town you have to try them out. But so as not to be disappointed call and make a reservation especially at the weekend. TIP: If you can, requested seats at the bar so that you can watch the chef and staff do their thing, it’s quite a show. We ate here recently and arrived without a reservation. They were busy but still sat the two of us which we appreciated. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was clear they were multitasking. I would give this review higher rankings just b/c...the staff was so nice. However, the food was mediocre. I had the calamari steaks and they came with vegetables. They veggies were pretty generic and so was the calamari. We also had crab cakes appetizers and they were pretty soggy (but tasted good). My husband got a fish special and it, again, was ok - same veggies as mine. The food just wasn't as tasty as we would have hoped. The wine list was decent. The prices were average for the location. They have plenty of outdoor seating.More

Went on a Tuesday night. Most of the highly rated restaurants are not open on Tuesdays, so the ones that are, will be busy. I called in for a 7:00 reservation, but we were not seated until 7:30. We were not pushed for time, so...it was not an issue for us. They may be a touch short staffed due to unemployment benefits being extended too long, give it a month or two. We were seated outside which was quite pleasant. I ordered the Catch of the day Sand dabs grilled and nicely prepared with lemon, caper butter sauce. My friend had linguine with clams, lots of clams, but she said a bit bland, could have used more garlic or parmesan cheese. Decent wine list with fair prices. It's popular, so make reservations!More

Eat at the bar. It's fun to watch chefs. Fresh seafood is well prepared. Service is very quick and the restaurant does a nice job of taking care of it's patrons.

Thought this was going to be some fresh lovely seafood but it was bitterly disappointing. All the main courses have shellfish with the shell on, which wouldn’t of been an issue if the waitress or menu had disclosed this prior to us ordering. I had...a seafood linguine and eating outside I had to siv through my food like an absolute animal to get the shells off, ten minutes later - the pasta and the sauce are cold. Waitress and manager were not bothered and offered a lousy 10% off the bill. They were baffled at the fact that I was upset that I had to literally finger my pasta to take shells off like that’s a normal thing to do, you wouldn’t do this at home or at an Italian so why is it acceptable at £20 a dish?! Would not recommend, go elsewhereMore

This is a family restaurant in a very good way. Family owned and staffed. This is important because it is not just a job, the food, service and experience is personal to much of their team. Starts with owner-chef "Chico" and his brother that are...the very-hard working duo at the bar-seated kitchen. Family style dishes: this is not the meticulously prepared art-dishes from a Michelin starred restaurant. Very ample dishes that are like what you would like to prepare in your own kitchen. Well prepared, promptly served. Simply delicious. You will not leave hungry. My wife and I had reservations several weeks in advance and they were busy. The greeter/server (no one stands around looking like there is nothing to do) promptly offered us a choice of seats at the bar (think chef's table) or a table. We decided on the bar. The chef (owner) introduced himself "Chico" as he was multi-tasking what looked like a dozen dinners in progress but found time to recommend, pour wine and offer appetizers. Loved our dinners, loved the experence. A reason by itself to visit Paso. We will be backMore

We made reservations here after reading the mostly positive reviews. Although we were on time, they had us come back 15 minutes later. The wine and service was good. The food was awful. I ordered the ciopinno which was more of a vegetable and seafood...stew. Who puts broccoli, green beans and squash in a ciopinno? I fished out the vegetables and had a few bites of tiny bay scallops, 2 clams, 2 mussels, a few chunks of fish and an inedible piece of crab left over. My partner had a scallop and shrimp combo which was mostly edible but nothing to write home about. Do not recommend.More

We have been coming here for many years and make it a point to stop every time we are in Paso Robles. Chico Mora, the owner serves up the best food without fail. We actually did take-out this trip but if you ever go, try...and sit at the food bar and watch Chico and his staff do their magic. We ordered the Calamari dinner & the Apple /Pecan Salad. The food was delicious.More

We live by beach and have seafood often, and the Catch had amazing halibut florentine! The veges were great, as well as sliced red potatoes. You get bread as well. The sea bass was unfortunately sold out. The scallops were a little too dry. Great...salad, and soup. Great halibut!More

Placed a takeout order by phone for a half hour pickup. The calamari steak and Chilean sea bass are among the best I have ever had. This place is always a favorite when I am in Paso.
