I escaped from California in 2000 to Texas but remembered The Raymond as one of the oldest and best in the entire San Gabriel Valley so my wife & I dined there on a Thursday evening last week. Fortunately I remembered how hard the place was to find and had a wonderful experience that night. We started with two perfect... More

Terrific. Service by a knowledgeable team with experience and taste. Personally I had the bread and flavored butter, the onion rings and glazed potatoes. This was followed by pork belly and fresh salmon. All out of this world. The inside of the restaurant is crisp and clean and I accidentally walked into kitchen. Immaculate. Prices were very reasonable. Valet parking.... More

Cozy bar and picturesque patio, but it shouldn't take 35 minutes to get a gin and tonic. Great food and wonderful waitstaff. Would come back, but wouldn't order any drinks.

This is a relatively highly rated restaurant in Pasadena. We found its food and wine to be significantly overpriced, The staff was friendly, but we hesitate to recommend it.

This is absolutely the best gem in South Pasadena! The food is cooked perfectly and the menu is always changing and delightful. The downside is that is is pricey and if you wish to have wine with your dinner the bottles start at$60 and up turning the meal into a somewhat expensive dinner. Nevertheless, we save this for special occasions... More

Best restaurant for weekend brunch and for gluten free eaters you are in luck. The restaurant is hidden, but worth the search. The dinner menu is unique with tasty bites that are fresh and easy on the palate. I love the tandoori cauliflower for an appetizer and the short rib is to die for. The patio has plenty of heaters... This is a restaurant in a small house hidden down a drive way. This alone makes it interesting. It has an arts and craft feel, it makes you want to get up and do a dance from the roaring twenties. The food is very good, if you like large servings you will find them here. Two of us had the... More

Met a friend for lunch on a warm spring-like day. The Raymond patio is in a very pleasant and spacious garden setting. Service is friendly and efficient. An inviting place to sit where the guest doesn't get the feeling they need to "turn the table" rapidly. The food is acceptable but not outstanding, but the experience of being in this... More

We had a very nice meal, and dessert was complimentary, in celebration of our anniversary. The food was, as I said, nice, and beautifully presented, though I think a bit over-priced. So, you're paying for the atmosphere? Well, the house is a Craftsman gem; unfortunately, they kind of spoil it by playing '70's pop music (!) as the background: really... More
