Relaxed and casual atmosphere. Definately Westernised Chinese food, although the Ma Po Tofu and Chicken with Chilli and Cashews was reasonably authentically Cantonese. Food is good though. Portions are large. Service is friendly. Good for unpretentious group dining.

If you're in for big serving, go here. The chinese food is okay. Crispy noodles has too much noodles and little gravy to go with it. The chicken and the duck dishes we had look similar except for the sauce. The fried rice is a bit different from the Aussie Chinese Fried Rice, no way near our Aussie standard of... More

I pass by The Panda Inn at least once a day.If it's any where near a meal time i'm tempted to stop for either a noodle dish or moo shu pork. The Panda was one of the first Chinese restaurants in the area and has kept it's reputation up all these years. It's big, tables and booths, Chinese decor, take-out... More

Has private rooms for large groups. Was able to handle 10 people with different dietary needs. Good variety of luncheon choices. The meal and service was great.

We have been enjoying Panda Inn since we moved to the San Gabriel Valley in 1978. Originally we frequented their Glendale location, but after a few years transitioned to Pasadena. Our travels have taken us to many cities known for excellent Chinese cuisine, including Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, San Francisco, New York City, Sydney and Vancouver. Yet in spite... After going to the Glendale location many times long ago, finally paid a visit to the original Panda Inn. Came here at 5 on a Sunday and it was already busy. Had to park way in the back. Still had to wait for a table. I was originally told that I wouldn't need a reservation. Another patron that was there... More

The food at Panda Inn far surpasses any other Chinese food I have ever eaten anywhere. The Panda beef and the upside down noodles are great and not to be missed.

I used to go there back in the 80's and when I moved out of the area I forgot about them. What a loss to me. I decided to try them again and it was a wonderful surprise. It looks expensive but it has something to fit every budget - AND THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! Located in the middle of... More

Being half Chinese we know good Chinese food and when traveling in most parts of the country it is becoming increasingly hard to find really good Chinese food. We have visited this restaurant every time we are in the area and it is always excellent, the food, the service and the ambiance.

Description
Panda Inn is the source and original inspiration behind the nationally recognized Panda Express restaurants.
Andrew Cherng and his father, Master Chef Ming Tsai Cherng, opened the first Panda Inn in Pasadena, California in 1973. Their goal was to share the culinary arts of Mandarin and Szechuan cuisines with their local community by emphasizing the Chinese art of balancing tastes and textures to provide a dining experience that delights the senses.
Today, still family-owned with five locations in Southern California, Panda Inn honors over 40 years of heritage and takes great pride in serving delectable cuisine with attentive service in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
