Great place to have some burgers and milkshakes! I had my own version of the famous BBQ, but without bread! Yes! You can have it on a delicious salad!

You can create your burger masterpiece at The Counter. Excellent menu! Was here for lunch and tried the WTF - Why the Face. I loved the Hawaiian Bun. So much to choose from. There is inside and outside dining available. Cool location on California Ave. A must go!

Let's just start off.. Build your own burger is great fun until it arrives and your wondering how do you eat this?! I'm always trying new things on my veggie burger... Cranberries, apricot jam, goat cheese, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, avocados and grilled peppers! I usually need a knife and fork ! This place was clean, full tables at lunch... More

Crowded place, but the burgers really deserve a stop here. Cooked to order, very good, fresh ingredients, served with a smile.

I like the way you can build your own burger, with quality ingredients and a really good brioche bun. Prices are ok considering that you get what you want in the burgers.

Kind of expensive for a burger and fries, but you can select all sorts of option toppings. I like the sweet potato fries. A good burger and decent bar.

Visited this location of The Counter my very first week in California and since then it has been my favorite location. While I've had OK burgers at other Counters, this one reigns supreme continuously for not only its great food but more importantly for its tremendous dedication to customer service. Emina, our server, was not only really pleasant and efficient,... More

While The Counter is a restaurant chain, the food is very good. What makes this restaurant business different is the option of building your own burger.....adding whatever you want. Or, you can choose from the regular list of items. The burgers and sandwiches are very good and fall within the average cost of places like this. You can, of course,... More

A mixed review. The good: burgers certainly are good, and toppings individualized (and can order for less than $1/ounce a larger size; and string potatoes are indeed excellent as are onion rings. Not so good: on this Saturday evening, sitting outside, service was extremely slow. When burgers were brought they were barely warm. We'll give this place a 2nd chance... More

It was not that busy but the wait for food was long ( 35 mins) then the order was not quite right and food was hardly warm. Fries never came. Server couldn't care less. Even when I asked if fries were coming he said yes but they never did. I can't recommend at all based on this disastrous experience
