We checked the "Yelp" reviews for a good breakfast place on a Saturday in Palo Alto (we're from the East Bay - Oakland). The restaurant and outdoor seating are both very attractive. Our server and bus person were very attentive and super friendly. That said, our food was very average. We both ordered the omelette special: prosciutto, salsa, cheese on... More

You know when you wake up in the morning and you KNOW exactly what you want to eat for breakfast? Well for me on this particular Friday, it was pancakes. More specifically, blueberry pancakes. My husband and I were meeting family for breakfast at Joanie's. I haven't been here in years and they moved to a new location since my... More

We spent lovely morning there and had great food. Fresh ingredients. The location is nearby google office which makes a nice stop after visiting Google campus.

Our daughter and her husband recommended Joanie's, and despite misgivings (they spend so much time rock climbing and extreme hiking in Yosemite when not engaged in studying/lab work, one wonders what they usually eat for breakfast), I met them there for breakfast. We ate outside (I had our border collie with me), and it was delicious, and the service was... More

They charged me 50 cents (no notice given) for low sugar syrup for my pancakes (which tasted like sawdust). their prices are absurd...they engineer the dishes to cost more by adding cheese and other things. Ever since they discontinued dinner the place has gone downhill. Joanies acts frantic to charge too much...cant even get a tuna sandwich.. just pick a... More

We have been going to Joanie's for many years. The omelets are super and the service is very good. We love that they welcome us as old friends and that the food is so fresh and well presented. There can be long lines on weekends. So getting there early is suggested.

I like very traditional breakfast done to perfection. I ordered Joanie's medley with bacon, poached eggs, hash browns and pancakes. Everything was cooked perfectly! It was waaaaay too much food: 2 eggs, 4-5 pieces of bacon, 2 huge pancakes and like 6-8oz of hash browns. But no matter how many hashbrowns, eggs and pancakes you throw on a plate, at... More

We were in Palo Alto to visit Stanford University with my daughter. Found Joanie's Cafe to be a wonderful location for breakfast! Coffee was hot & tasty. Pancakes were fluffy & my husband's sourdough toast was delightful...it came with homemade jam. Delicious! Opted for outside seating and was not disappointed with service! Would certainly return to location the next time... More

We landed in San Francisco in the early morning and went to Joanie's with our son's family. The food was yummy. I had lunch while the others had breakfast and we all loved our meals. My tuna melt was great and the coffee was perfect. A refreshing break after a long flight.

Visited Joanie's on several occasions, breakfast is best, lunch is very good for burgers, OK for salads. It can be noisy, but its a popular place especially on Weekends.
