Power people (what a terrible phrase!) eat here, as do many families, couples, and plenty of after work solos, and out-of-town business people. The atmosphere is up-market casual although if you want to dress up you can. The food is inventive, delicious, and always very well prepared. Not a bad dish on the menu that we've ever experienced, and we... More

It was our first visit. We decided to let the server recommend dishes and we were happy with all of the suggested dished. The Empress Rice is a "must." Both the Clay Pot Cod and Shaking Beef were outstanding. Come with a big appetite!

We dine out often and this restaurant is always in the mix. The ambiance is understated elegance, very nice wines by the glass selection although we typically get a bottle and the food is always delicious.

I was really looking forward to dining here after all the good things I heard, but was really disappointed. Ordered the fried oysters. My first one was fine, but bitting into my second one, I got a very fishy taste, looked inside and saw a green liquid. Checked the third one and it also had the green liquid. Asked the... More

We have been here before and cam back for more. The food is delicious and the service welcoming. Some portions are a bit on the large size, but everything is worth trying

Tamarind is Asian fusion cuisine. The lettuce wrap appetizers are to die for. The shaking beef salad is terrific. I had the Shaking Beef entre, filet mignon with noodles and veges. Terrific. My wife had Tamarine prawns and a friend had the sea bass, both great. We highly recommend the long beans as a side dish.

Tamarine was a very nice choice for a group dinner. The menu is set for tapas stay plates ideal for table sharing. This allowed for a wide variety of selections to be ordered. Everything was fresh and the flavor combinations delectable. Definitely must try he shaking beef and papaya salad!

Visiting Palo Alto we were brought to this nice well served restaurant. Everything we had was done to my taste; the wine list wonderful and the service perfect. Great dinning experience. If I had to criticize something would be the small tables, could improve with bigger and more comfortable setting. I will be back many times.

It's easy to miss this place in the evening since it's off the main drag and they draw a curtain to block the sun from their entry. We ordered: roti, clay pot cod, shaking beef, empress rice, lemon tart. Food was excellent. Definitely Asian fusion food - not exactly Vietnamese. Definitely make a reservation! There were many other dishes we'd... More

Description
Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.
