Extensive menu with something for everybody. Good size portions - sweet & sour pork, meat & broccoli, braised tofu, all served hot and tasty. A great option if you're in the mood for Chinese food in Palo Alto.

Ordered the Orange Peel Chicken, which I hadn't had before, to "branch out". Not my favorite, and left me kicking myself that I hadn't ordered the dan dan noodles - they are so good! Next time.
Walk up ordered and then walked around the closed streets while I waited. 15 minutes prep time. Portion sizes are good. Rice was extra but good, also. Packaged well, did not spill on way home. No seating available but tables are near-by on the closed...streets. I would go back. More dishes to try.More
We have eaten at Jing Jing several times over the years. My aunt has been a fixture in Palo Alto for close to 60 years and considers this Chinese restaurant one of her favorites. We most always have their Sizzling Rice Soup and Walnut Prawns...and then add other dishes as our palates desire. All their food is consistently very good.More
Located just off Palo Alto's main drag is a true Oriental gem. We had 2 amazing dishes for dinner - lamb kung pao and a smoked duck. Unusually prepared, totally delicious. Wish we could have sampled more off this chef's menu !
I had an amazing dish here tonight, however the service was appalling. I went 30 minutes without anyone checking up on me.
We live down south now and needed a good Chinese food fix. We got it! And then some! The place is nothing fancy, which is pretty much what most Chinatown places are like. But the food...we had the hot and sour soup. Small is good...enough for 2 people. Shredded beef was out of this world. Spice was perfect. Mongolian beef was great, but the shredded number was best ever for me. Reasonably priced. Lots of locals and Asians there, so a good sign. Parking is, as always in CA, a pain.More
Jing Jing is our favorite spicy downtown Palo Alto Chinese restaurant! With many subtle spicy dishes and vegetarian dishes, what's not to like? Amidst enormous murals and other wonderful artwork on the walls, the chef's talents display artistry on the table! Come check it out!
We came there twice with large groups of friends, and we could always be accommodated in the restaurant. Fast serving, good food, many options to chose from, catering to every wish.
We had lunch here today. When we were done, the waiter brought us the check, as he approached the table, the old women at the front desk called him back mumbling something about tips. Then when we finally got the check, the bill included a...20% tip already. We came here before and usually tip 20% on top of the after-tax amount. Now it seems that they automatically add tips to the bill on a selective and discriminative base! We asked the woman why she added the tip to the bill, and she said some people do not tip. I don't know based on what she thought we wouldn't tip. Very rude practice on her part. I will not return to this restaurant any more. The food was so so - not very authentic Chinese, and most dishes are way too salty. We came here mainly because it was close to Stanford University.More
Ended up ordering take out for dinner on two separate occasions within one week since I enjoyed the food so much. Kung Pao Chicken, fried rice, egg flower soup, and asparagus chicken with bean sauce. All very good. Did not eat in so I cannot...speak to the table service other than the order process was easy and friendly. Food was ready as promised. The restaurant appeared cozy, clean, and pleasant. Look forward to eating Jing Jing again.More
We've been eating at Jing Jing for more than 20 years. When our kids were toddlers, we ate here about once a month because it was the perfect place to go: good food, friendly, relatively inexpensive, and close to our home. Since then, we've added...many other restaurants into our rotation, but Jing Jing is still a family favorite. In the restaurant, you'll find a steady stream of locals eating in or taking food to go, plus the occasional group of Stanford students. The decor isn't upscale or corporate (like so many other places in downtown Palo Alto), even though the restaurant has been renovated once or twice over the years. The food is pretty standard San Francisco Chinese fare (which is great compared to most other places in the US), and ranges from bland to extremely spicy. Ask your waiter for help choosing food that suits your preferences.More
Jing Jing is a good choice when in the mood for good Chinese food delivered within one hour. The Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef were both very tasty, as was the white rice. While a bit pricey, Jing Jing is satisfying on nights when...one does not feel like preparing a meal,More
This is a nice small and quiet restaurant. The food is pretty good but nothing special. Prices are pretty standard for downtown Palo Alto. The dishes marked 'spicy' are not very hot.
Senior citizen talking to other seniors: There's a lot to like about this place. First, no loud music--in fact,no music at all so you have a quiet dinner and talk to your companions. Very competent staff, well-managed, courteous to us old folks. Rest rooms are...way behind the kitchen, they're big and clean. Last but not least, the food is pretty good. Fresh ingredients, everything came out hot, decent portions at decent prices. Not a gourmet experience, but one worth repeating.More
