I had just moved to Palo Alto and wanted some good French food. So we looked up Pastis and a booked a table for 8:30 and arrived on time. There were only 2 tables besides ours. One inside and one outside (was a weekday). I ordered the escargot for appetizer and one of their specials, filet mignon w foie gras;... More

Our second time here, this one without friends. An authentic French bistro, with a superb menu, fine service, and warm atmosphere. I'm usually a vegetarian, but I could not resist the frisée aux lardon salad, which was superb! My spouse's mussels were the best we've had, and my special--swordfish -- was just fine! All told, a good experience, and, without... More

"She who MUST BE obeyed), allows me to accompany her here, on special occasions. We often order the Moules Marinere, mussels, which come in a white wine, garlic and parsley broth. It's accompanied by french fries, which are a delightful presentation, with fries, standing straight up in a silvery cup!! OMG, those fries are soooo good, lightly seasoned, I could eat... More

This is a pleasant French Country Food restaurant. The food is delicious. Three members of our party selected beef of one sort or another. One was really pleased with the flavor and texture of his flank (or strip) steak. The other two enjoyed their meat, but weren't as vocal. One person had the bean casserole. It had plenty of chicken... More

I went for lunch today at Pastis. It was very nice. I had a delicious portobello sandwich with garlic roasted potatoes. It was one of the better sandwiches that I have had. It had a very nice sauce, roasted red peppers and lettuce. The bun was very fresh and had a crunchy crust. I also had an espresso after lunch... More

We recently went there for brunch and it was delicious, we have been there for dinner and its always good. French food, more bistro style than fancy pants. Very easy, food prepared with care. I had the chicken and avocado omelet and it was DELICIOUS, with a spicy habeneros sauce. We sat outside which is always nice.

We had a family dinner here during Stanford graduation weekend. We were given a nice table for our group of seven at the front the restaurant next to the window -- we were on the side of the restaurant near the bar, but it wasn't noisy. We ate on the early side given the east-coast jet lag we were experiencing... More

The owner, herself, took great care of our table. We were concerned about some food allergies at our table and she made sure the dinners were correct. I'd highly recommendd the food. It was really good.

My boyfriend took me there for a pre-Mother's Day meal. He is Moroccan/French so he knows his stuff. We started with Escargot and came with French Bread and we shared a nice bottle of wine. I had the Fish Stew and was absolutely fabulous! He had a huge bowl of Mussels which was his favorite. For dessert, we had an... More

My daughter and I had lunch there... A restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere and a staff of French speakers ! The food and drinks are very good with a reasonable price. I really recommend the Sandwich au Steak Grille !
