The atmosphere was fine if a little cramped but the service was desultory and the food although relatively expensive was way below the standard of the most touristy of bistros in Paris. The onion soup had a log of bread one could almost climb over to get to the soup itself and the duck dish which I and another of... More

Great meal at Bon Vivant. We liked everything: the food, setting & service. I met up with a few friends and found it easy to talk while dining - nice not to be sitting on top of each other like many PA restaurants. Between us we tried Sea Bass, Duck, Quail and a bunch of appetizers. Everything was great. We... More

I used Open-table about 2 weeks ago to find a Valentine Day Dinner location and found many were “sold-out". But, Bon Vivant was not, and I had eaten there before. It showed the only time for a reservation was at 5:30 pm, so I booked it. Unlike many other restaurants, it did not say it had a pre-fix meal nor... More

I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere when I walked in. The art on the walls is eclectic and well placed. I loved the juxtaposition of chairs and comfortable couches. The experience was just a little lacking for me, due to the rather subdued atmosphere. I will certainly visit again on a busier night! I also neglected to check the... More

Another great meal at Bon Vivant! We started with an assortment of appetizers: Escargot, Mussels, Lobster and a Beet salad. Everything was delicious, fresh and served beautifully. Next we had the Rabbit and a Pork chop. We shared and sometimes competed for the best morsels, but in the end, we were both very happy and very well fed. After so... More

Super find for Tea service : my mom invited me to have an afternoon tea together with her - we had a lovely time. Elegant and absolutely delicious tea service: good selection of mini sandwiches, scones came straight from the oven with orange marmalade. Bits of opera' cake and mini macarons, tiny creme brulees and fruit tarts - each only... More

As a birthday surprise, my family took me here for dinner. Each dish was amazing. I had the butternut squash ravioli which melted in my mouth. My husbands crispy skinned duck was amazingly tender. Unfortunately I forgot what my kids ate, but the food was plentiful and delicious. I came many years ago and was quite disappointed that it was... More

Due to travel and whatnot, it has been a couple of months since I've eaten at Bon Vivant. I'm very pleased to report that if anything, it is even better than I remembered it. I couldn't detail the changes, but the beautiful dining room seems to have improved in subtle ways. My wife noticed some elegant new seating, etc. Anyway,... More

I went to Bon Vivant with my wife on a Friday evening around 7:30pm, surprisingly the restaurant wasn't busy. We shared a foie gras (poile). It was good but it is a very small portion (for $25+) My Tartare (Double starter) had nothing special, it was "ok". We then shared a Souffle, which was below average (they add chocolate sauce... Walking distance from the Sheraton, and Westin and Stanford University, it makes it easy to dine here. The restaurant is small, well designed and intimate. The restaurant has traditional french cuisine and a lovely wine menu with reasonable prices. Loved the foie gras, and pate, roast rabbit and mushroom ragu. Salade Lyonnaise. The Aubergine Napoleon was too heavy and not... More
