The food was fabulous and the service was outstanding! A bit pricey but a great place for brunch! We had a BLT and the bacon was the best, thickest, tastiest I've ever had! Breads are all homemade. Also ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich that was incredible. Sandwiches came with fresh greens salad with great mustard vinaigrette dressing. Will definitely return... More

Upbeat, upscale, near the back of a mall on El Camino Real, this elegant bakery-restaurant attracts boomers and Gen Xers alike. The Mayfield Bakery features calm lighting, friendly service, warm breads (hey, it really is a bakery) and olive oils, fresh local produce, and beautifully presented dishes (steak frites and steelhead trout are on offer on a strong menu) along... We had a little time to kill before attending a dissertation at Stanford so we stopped at the Town & Country Plaza and walked around. We actually were going to stop at Peets for coffee but our daughter sniffed out Mayfield Bakery. It was well worth it! My husband and I shared a sandwich on the best bread I've had... More

We have stopped by to grab a quick bite at the bar before Theater. Service was very attentive and fast. My friend order Gnocchi and Brussel Sprouts. I wanted salad with some protein. Menu had salad with option to add chicken or shrimp. I asked if instead of chicken I could have steak. What I got is a gigantic piece... More

went with family. had the steak was overcooked and not very tasty. my wife had the gnocchi. she said hers was not that good either. the brussels sprouts appetizer was quite good. the server recommended the chocolate chip cookies for dessert also very underwhelming. my coffee was lukewarm. all in all not very good.

A recent hike in prices, coupled with the service, which is slow and often haphazard, has put me off ever returning for dinner. The restaurant is without charm, echo-y and so loud it's difficult to hear or be heard. The wooden schoolchairs are uncomfortable. A plate of ordinary gnocchi with tomato sauce costs $34 as a main course, which is,... More

Lovely restaurant recommended by friend. Ordered $18 Eggs Benedict, looked delicious , nice portion with greens on side. The problem was stale sour dough bread that required a steak knife( not supplied) to cut into. Never had to eat EB with a spoon. Tasteless Hollandise. Slice of Boar's Head style Black Forest Ham. Overpriced and disappointing to say the least.... More

Enjoyed a good brunch with a "brunch" Sunday morning vibe. Super good burger and soup. Definitely make a reservation on the weekend.

I loved the seeded baguette. Now it is no longer sold. I won't be back. Maybe they are saving money by simplifying their offerings, but this is a bakery. Come on guys.

The restaurant used to be very good and because it was convenient to work, I went often. The food was getting worse and worse, and last night I tried it again. Hard to believe it's gone downhill this much. Caesar salad just soggy, chopped up romaine with an inferior dressing and croutons so rock-hard that they were inedible. And they... More
