I ended up at Mr. Lyons during a business trip as part of a large group. Both the service and the food were amazing. Our group was around 40 people they did a really nice job of handling our group size and getting our meals out at a nice pace. I had the french onion soup and filet. As a table we shared the smashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were really tasty. We also shared the mint ice cream for dessert - seriously SO good. The ambiance of the restaurant is also really nice. Highly recommend checking out Mr. Lyon's if you get the chance.

A perfect birthday steak. I was apprehensive at first, it seemed pretty pricey but I wanted to take my partner for a steak for his birthday. We were sat promptly in a great seat, and quickly greeted by our server. Personally there wasn’t any cocktails I liked on the menu but there was a good choice for people not as fussy as myself. We did go for starters, just because we wanted to make the most of our steak and not be too full. We both had the 10oz fillet both cooked differently, and it was amazing. High quality steak, with delicious sides of mac and cheese, fries, and a Caesar salad. The waiters were attentive, and speedy. Nothing was missed. I would certainly recommend this restaurant as a romantic dining place for special occasions or if you want a decent tender high quality steak!

I've always been a fan of Mr. Lyons. I had never sat in the Conservatory until this past weekend. While the food and the service were good for us, there are several issues that soured our meal and tarnished our feelings about this place. 1. The Conservatory is terrible. It is a cold afterthought, not at all in keeping with the main dining room, the lounge or the speakeasy. Remember when Wendy's used to have those garish solariums bulging out in front of their main dining rooms? Or that "overflow" banquet room off of the main wedding reception? That is the Conservatory. It was cold, and it was loud. Never ever accept a table here. 2. Because it was basically the overflow banquet room, a large party of about 8-10 20-somethings were put at a large table to celebrate a birthday. They were so loud and obnoxious that the restaurant should have addressed their noise. 3. Maybe because of the large party, or because of kitchen or server error, there were two tables next to us that had to wait in excess of 45 minutes to receive any food (ours came out perfectly and we were only seated minutes before these other tables). It was terrible. I'll give them one more chance because I love their other restaurants but this was a big miss, and unfortunately we were out with very good friends from out of town. They may not be so forgiving.

Well we went to one of Mr Lyons wine makers dinners. The room was nice and the service was good as this was a private affair so we had dedicated servers. They have a new chef so we were excited to try his menu. It was a 5 course tasting menu. Started with an oyster. I love oyster that are fresh and natural. This oyster was marinated so strongly that you didn't even know you were eating an oyster. A fish dish was served, I believe it was salmon, farmed. It was tasteless and bland. The main course was a gamy meat, perhaps venison and it had a liver aftertaste. Finally the desert was a small square of chocolate unelegantly served on a little white doily. Totally unimpressive. The wine was good. The price of $150 pp wasn't.

We were cordially invited to dine without a reservation for two. Seated at a bar table without table cloths, drinks were served quickly. Average. Orders for dinner were taken at the same time. Prices are high but expected for the anticipated quality of the meal to be served. Duck at $36.00 was a first choice but, unavailable. So two orders of the 10 ounce prime rib. Add a baked potato and a side of creamed spinach ...the price for each was well over $50.00. Five minutes after the cocktails were served, the meal appeared. I wish I had a food scale...I have never seen such a small cut of prime rib for $40.00. Considering 1/4 of the beef was fat which I blatantly pulled from my mouth because of my disgust, I am angry and at the same time trying to understand how such a great restaurant could treat customers. Was it delicious? No. Average. But, I tried to understand how a restaurant in such a vacation and life-style specific community can remain profitable. Well, for what we received in both service and food quality, this restaurant fails. We were given the check from another server who afterwards asked if we would like coffee or dessert. "Or just the check?" Below average in many ways yet more expensive than some of the nicest steak restaurants in New York. It was a Birthday dinner and I would not recommend this restaurant to any couple or family who wants a satisfying dinner for the prices asked. I walked away hungry...Try the Carl Jr's Angus burger!

A friend suggested we meet at Mr. Lyons for dinner while we were visiting Palm Springs. The menu is a meat lovers dream, but I was not in heaven like the others. I ordered the John Dorey Meuniere which was moist, well seasoned, and delicious. The balsamic brussel sprouts and butternut squash were equally yummy. I have it on good authority that the steak frites and prime rib were superb and cooked perfectly. The chocolate bondino for dessert was the perfect ending to a very good meal. Coffee was not fresh and also tasted bitter. The service was very good and professional, even though he forgot to mention the specials to our table. It is very expensive, but has not the price of meat gone up significantly during the pandemic???

This is like one of those traditional dark and clubby steak houses with a fantastic bar attached, Seymours, with true craft cocktails. It is unassuming from the outside but very subdued and pleasant on the interior. The tenderloin in the Beef Wellington was as soft as butter, although the puff pastry could he been a tad more crisp. Portions are large and prices are high. The service throughout the evening was attentive and professional. We really liked this place even though we do not frequent steak and chop restaurants. I want to come back and just go to the bar too.

On arriving the steak house gave the vibe of trying too hard to be a michelin star resturant with pricing to match. This is most definately not the case! I ordered the new sea bass dish as recommended by our server. When the food came I was told the plate was very hot. However, the food was stone cold. When I queried with the server if the food was supposed to be cold, he answered that the plate was hot and so should warm it through.......I was shook! He then put his finger in it to confirm that I was correct and asked if I would like him to heat it up. Ummm, well No sir, I would not, I dont know where your fingers have been. So I said no and told him to just take it away, The manager then came up with the menu and asked me to choose something else, I had no appetite left at this point and declined the offer. She went away and we didnt see or hear from her again. I waited on my husband to finish his meal of beef wellington, which he said was not great but he was that hungry he ate it. The bill came and my food was removed from the bill but it would have been nice to have an apology. A couple of days later I was talking to a friend that lives in PS and my husband bought up this restuarant, to which my friend said 'Oh you should have let me know you were thinking of going here, I would have told you not to waste your money'!! Lesson Learnt.

If you are looking for a great table cloth restaurant in PS this is the spot. From the moment you call for a reservation you are treated with the greatest care. The restaurant is well located, with ample parking, a beautiful candle lit dining room, and then there is the food. Mr. Lyons is the only place in the desert that I have found that serves true Beef Wellington and they do it extremely well. They offer a full bar and a great wine list. Leave room for some homemade ice cream. I had an exceptional meal and cannot wait to do it again.

Came for a date night, they ran out of food after my order was placed. I was advised the food would be comp due to the hour wait and for storage. I order a replacement meal that was just not worth it. We don’t not eat the replacement food. After sending back all the food that was suggested due to the food being ordered not available, I was charged for the meal. I contacted the location to get a refund and they abandon the refund process. I got a charge back on my credit card after making a claim, and they had the nerve to dispute it. This place is classless don’t waste your time !

We are visiting Palm Springs from Europe. We wanted to have a drink before dinner but it felt like we were being rushed to the table even though the restaurant was half empty. My wife had burger and I had wagyu steak frites. We were advised by the waitress that chef would not accept any order for beef that is hotter than medium rare- even though my wife hates meat that is bloody. Whatever happened the customer being always right? My steak frites was poor tough and grisly and my wife couldn’t eat her burger. Overall a poor experience.

Dinner at Mr. Lyons is a wonderful, unhurried, steakhouse experience. My husband ordered the 12 oz prime rib and I had the 5 oz filet. The meat was tender and every bite was delicious. We started with the wedge, hi surprises there it was delicious. We also had the Mac and cheese as well as the broccoli as accompaniments, the cheese was a bit thick and could have been better melted and the broccoli was crisp and pretty straightforward. The meat was the clear star of the show. Delicious.

Three out of seven “specials” not available. Only told that some minutes after ordering. Had been told when ordering it would take 30 mins or so to cook the veggie wellington and traditional wellington. Thus, all the more surprised when later told neither actually available “as it is a Sunday”. Same said for the unavailable prime rib. When we said, if this always happens on a Sunday order more in for Sundays, that seemed to fall on deaf ears. Having a waiter try to clear plates while our host still eating not good either. When we left, the lack of attention to detail was exemplified by the unattended reception desk. Had to chase staff down to get our coats back. They’d had the money, so no long fee cared. Not impressed.

Just hosted a work dinner here for a large group and the experience was terrific. The staff and Patrick in management were exceptional in helping ensure we all had a memorable experience. The restaurant is somewhat iconic here in Palm Springs and whether you are here for casual dining or work dinner gathering, I think you'll enjoy the experience. Lovely outdoor patio areas and a dedicated separate dining room helped make the experience unique. The food was really good - I had salmon which was fresh and tasty.

This is not a good way to run a restaurant. Ordered a bottle of San Pellegrino water, never saw the bottle, instead two glass of what I believe was club soda arrived. Was charged for the bottle, yet never received the bottle. This is outright deceptive, I would never return to a business that tries to trick their customers. Service was poor also, refilling glasses with other than what was originally ordered. They charge a decent amount of money for a meal, yet want to find ways to gouge more from people.
