Best food in Palm Springs usually TA nails it but the 86 places listed higher than this iconic restaurant are not consistently so good (maybe 10-15 deserve their higher rating) have eaten at all of them as we live here). The great thing about TA...getting it so wrong is that this place will not be overrun (btw it’s always busy so it’s not like word isn’t out) Service is always spot on and the food (every dish is phenomenal) highly highly recommend!More

Dinner started off strong but then the waiter forgot us. Food served without the wine, veggie way over done, steaks fine. Fun atmosphere but would not hurry back.

Well we went to one of Mr Lyons wine makers dinners. The room was nice and the service was good as this was a private affair so we had dedicated servers. They have a new chef so we were excited to try his menu. It...was a 5 course tasting menu. Started with an oyster. I love oyster that are fresh and natural. This oyster was marinated so strongly that you didn't even know you were eating an oyster. A fish dish was served, I believe it was salmon, farmed. It was tasteless and bland. The main course was a gamy meat, perhaps venison and it had a liver aftertaste. Finally the desert was a small square of chocolate unelegantly served on a little white doily. Totally unimpressive. The wine was good. The price of $150 pp wasn't.More

Great night at the Mr. Lyons bar - the main dining room was 100% booked, but we were the first patrons at the bar (which had full menu service) . Whistle pig is the well Rye, so I had a fantabulous Manhattan, while my wife...ha. d a Saphirre Martini. Great conversation with our bartender - until it picked up and the show of professional cocktail making began. We bother had Steak Frites off the bar menu and split a Cesar salad. Food was wonderful - Cesar was crisp, with a good lemon note - I appreciated that anchovies were presented whole rather than incorporated in the dressing - allowing for personal fishyness to be allocated . The Hanger Steak was well seasoned and grilled just as requested, to a fine warm rare. Fries we great - obviously hand cut and double fried. Had some fun conversation with others at the bar, staff was great. Will definitely come back !More

A perfect birthday steak. I was apprehensive at first, it seemed pretty pricey but I wanted to take my partner for a steak for his birthday. We were sat promptly in a great seat, and quickly greeted by our server. Personally there wasn’t any cocktails...I liked on the menu but there was a good choice for people not as fussy as myself. We did go for starters, just because we wanted to make the most of our steak and not be too full. We both had the 10oz fillet both cooked differently, and it was amazing. High quality steak, with delicious sides of mac and cheese, fries, and a Caesar salad. The waiters were attentive, and speedy. Nothing was missed. I would certainly recommend this restaurant as a romantic dining place for special occasions or if you want a decent tender high quality steak!More

Mr. Lyons will not take a reservation for one, so, apparently, solo travelers are not welcome. I found another restaurant to give my business to, and I will not bother visiting Mr. Lyons on any return visit — with or without other people in my...group.More

I ended up at Mr. Lyons during a business trip as part of a large group. Both the service and the food were amazing. Our group was around 40 people they did a really nice job of handling our group size and getting our meals...out at a nice pace. I had the french onion soup and filet. As a table we shared the smashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were really tasty. We also shared the mint ice cream for dessert - seriously SO good. The ambiance of the restaurant is also really nice. Highly recommend checking out Mr. Lyon's if you get the chance.More

I've always been a fan of Mr. Lyons. I had never sat in the Conservatory until this past weekend. While the food and the service were good for us, there are several issues that soured our meal and tarnished our feelings about this place. 1....The Conservatory is terrible. It is a cold afterthought, not at all in keeping with the main dining room, the lounge or the speakeasy. Remember when Wendy's used to have those garish solariums bulging out in front of their main dining rooms? Or that "overflow" banquet room off of the main wedding reception? That is the Conservatory. It was cold, and it was loud. Never ever accept a table here. 2. Because it was basically the overflow banquet room, a large party of about 8-10 20-somethings were put at a large table to celebrate a birthday. They were so loud and obnoxious that the restaurant should have addressed their noise. 3. Maybe because of the large party, or because of kitchen or server error, there were two tables next to us that had to wait in excess of 45 minutes to receive any food (ours came out perfectly and we were only seated minutes before these other tables). It was terrible. I'll give them one more chance because I love their other restaurants but this was a big miss, and unfortunately we were out with very good friends from out of town. They may not be so forgiving.More

No dress code, but definitely nicer dress than other places along Palm Canyon. You won't see shorts and sandals here, more summer dresses and lightweight pants for men.

Don't bother... head over to 849 or Tropicale or even the Ritz Carlton. You won't get awful service or ripped off.
