We called a few hours before to see if we could get a reservation for a party of 12. They couldn't accommodate us all at one table, but were able to have two adjacent tables. Worked out just fine. We all ordered different pizza's and salads and shared, so didn't ask about separate checks. Prices, service, and food were good,... More

My daughter and I weren't quite hungry enough for a full meal...but we wanted to enjoy our first night in Palm Springs. We decided to enjoy the basics...and Matchbox delivered. The Ginormous Meatball made from angus beef, veal + pork, pepperoni sauce, with wood-fired bread and pecorino romano was fabulous! More than enough for two people. The sauce had a... More

Visited here on a Friday night with my husband. Had reserved seating on Open Table app prior to arrival. Can not reserve patio seating unless you are there in person, so ask when you arrive and if it's available they will seat you, which was the case for us. Was immediately seated on the patio. They have private balconies available... More

We live in the desert and happened to be a bit hungry for a late lunch on a Wednesday, while in "Down Town P.S., just in time for happy hour at the Matchbox, what a great surprise! Half price wine and it was good, $5.plates, and great pizza, and sliders that were perfect and came with a Heep if toasted... More

I used to eat her 3 or 4 time each month for dinner but since the management changed I have only visited one time and that was enough. I suggest you stay away.

Came here on recommendation of our hotel and liked it a lot. Informal restaurant with nice vibe. We had the pizza, which was very good. Recommended!

This restaurant has a great menu, lots of outdoor seating and a friendly staff. The food was tasty and the cocktails delicious.

The restaurant is really nice, the food is good and the service too. Even though the restaurant is really crowded, we were seated really fast evrytime we went there.

When you have time for a leisurely meal with friends, you seek out a restaurant that is quiet enough for good conversation and does not try to rush the pace of your meal. Matchbox did all of this and served excellent food. We were in a mood for gourmet pizza, so I ordered the veggie pizza (lots of tender artichoke... More

Nothing like a super hot brick oven to quickly blister a crisp, chewy, thin crust pizza! We opened with salad (a pear and caramelized pecan dressed plate), then shared the fire+smoke (roasted red bell peppers and chipotle sauce), along with a prosciutto and mission fig pizza. We didn't need dessert. Capable and attentive waitstaff, reasonable prices, nice outdoor seating above... More

Description
what makes a great pizza? It starts with a great oven! Ours is an authentic wood- fired masonry oven where the fire has burned constantly since the day we opened. Modern gas and electric ovens cannot produce the intense heat needed – over 800 degrees – to achieve the crispy, smoky crust that our oven provides. With dough made fresh daily in-house, our goal is to make the best pizza in Palm Springs!the space. The challenge? How do you build distinctive restaurants in unique urban spaces? Our original location in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, DC was a Chinese grocery in a structure 15 feet wide and three stories tall. Our newest location in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington was a 90 year old vending machine warehouse. matchbox Palm Springs was opened in 2005 in a second floor location with spectacular views of Mt St. Jacinto and Palm Canyon Drive. Our partnership group, with backgrounds in restaurant operations and construction simply have a great time designing and building all of our projects!
