This is a large restaurant on the first floor of an attractive building in the centre of Old Palm Springs. There is outside, balcony dining. Staff are wonderful and the food deilcious. There are many choices of pizza, including build-your-own; as well as pasta and meat dishes. prices are reasonable for the area.

Our family of four stopped into the Matchbox during a recent stay in Palm Springs and we are happy we did. We love LULU, but for meat cooked on a grill, Matchbox was just was the doctor ordered! The brick oven pizza was delicious, the salads were a delight, and the burgers were great. Everything we had was excellent and... More

Food very over-hyped, and nothing to rave about. We shared one appetizer, a salad, one tiny burger and she had one martini. The bill was an eye-popping $61. After a brief stroll at the Thursday night Village Fest below - we were both famished again. Our Verdict? Pass-up this tourist trap chain. For the same money, Ruby's Diner can fill... More

Arrived in Palm Springs at night after full 24 hour travel. We had booked this restaurant from Trip advisor. We were not disappointed!! It was busy but we got seated and served very quick. The food was fantastic. Pizza and beer. Would highly recommend. Great atmosphere!!

This hast to be the most authentic Italian best pizza place in all of Palm Springs. The service was outstanding amazing great selections on pizza on the menu, the food was authentic to Italian wood burning oven like in Naples Italy. Desire the hostess was the most friendly and not overbearing. Yummy is all I can say.

This was our first time here. Came in for dinner. We had two sleeping kids with us and we brought our beast of a stroller in. The manger was very helpful and great to accommodate some room for us! Thank you! Food was excellent but took about 40 minutes to get our food. The waitress just kept passing by our... More

Stopped by this restaurant for dinner and it was very good. Me and my girlfriend ended up sharing a Matchbox Pizza and it was great. Prices are about average and the view is nice. Would recommend this restaurant for dinner.

Not only is there pizza to die for, but so is just about everything else on the menu. The happy hour is definitely one of the best in Palm Springs and the wine list is extensive for those who like to try new things. This is the perfect place for a date night or a family dinner out and the... More

Matchbox has great food and wine. Never have to wait for a seat, and prompt service. Love people watching from above, too!

Description
what makes a great pizza? It starts with a great oven! Ours is an authentic wood- fired masonry oven where the fire has burned constantly since the day we opened. Modern gas and electric ovens cannot produce the intense heat needed – over 800 degrees – to achieve the crispy, smoky crust that our oven provides. With dough made fresh daily in-house, our goal is to make the best pizza in Palm Springs!the space. The challenge? How do you build distinctive restaurants in unique urban spaces? Our original location in the Chinatown neighborhood of Washington, DC was a Chinese grocery in a structure 15 feet wide and three stories tall. Our newest location in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington was a 90 year old vending machine warehouse. matchbox Palm Springs was opened in 2005 in a second floor location with spectacular views of Mt St. Jacinto and Palm Canyon Drive. Our partnership group, with backgrounds in restaurant operations and construction simply have a great time designing and building all of our projects!
