Pomme Frite (french fry) is a wonderful, classic French/ Belgian bistro in heart of Pal Springs. It is unpretentious and welcoming, with warmth of service complementing the simple yet wonderfully crafted cuisine. A very successful marriage of French and Belgian food, wine and, of course,...More

Menu looked great, but the food was average. Had steak tartare, and it was rather bland tasting. Came with a salad, which was just a bunch of lettuce leaves on the plate. Felt it was a tad overpriced, as well.

THE OWNER: The host (the owner) is VERY gruff, curt and unwelcoming to say the least. Without a smile or even really acknowledging us in any way, he seated us and aggressively and authoritatively rattled off some specials. As I was thanking him and asking...More

Staff were good but service slow. I had 'short rib' but it may have been some different cut, as it was a big boneless hunk of meat, dry and tough with long grain to the meat. No flavor-difficult to eat. Nothing like the tender, flavorful...More

Charming restaurant comprised of different rooms. By 6:00pm the restaurant was full. Food and selection of French & California wines was very good and selection of beers was excellent. Tables were too close to one another ...not that we want to hear the conversations of...More
