I stopped in here for a quick lunch, and I was trying to avoid the nearby Mcdonalds. I got just a couple tacos, and they were not horrible but not great either. The hot sauce was pretty good though. They got kind of pissy when I tried to pay with a credit card, saying they wouldn't take it for less... More

Come for the simple, delicious food; not for the basic decor. Our friendly, vivacious server helped explain the menu and gave excellent advice for two newbies to the cuisine: order the sampler plate plus a Salvadoran tamale (wrapped in banana leaf) and share. It was plenty for two people; everything was tasty and cost less than $20 including a $3... More

This is a nice change from what you can get on the strip. You re not over paying for being in a touristy restaurant. You feel like you are in another time and place. The pupusas were very good, the slaw vinegary, the meats tasty. Very nice wait staff. If you want something a little different from other "Spanish" food,... More

The El Salvador Cafe is tucked into a strip of businesses in the Albertson's Shopping Center, in Palm Springs, at Vista Chino and Sunrise... It is next door to World's Gym. This simple, unassuming, small restaurant is a Diamond in the rough..... Very Clean, Great Service, Delicious Food...... and..... Very Affordable.... !!!! A family run business.... and they treat you... More

This is a nice "hole in the wall" restaurant that serves authentic El Salvadorian food. The prices are very reasonable and the service is friendly It has a family run feel to it. I had the pupusa and fried bananas -- tasted great. They also served complimentary cold slaw. They don't take credit cards. I would recommend this if you... More

This is a small place. I was not familiar with some of the types of cuisine. I tried the pupusas which our friend said in kind of the traditional nation dish. I tend to stay away from meat and this had many options for me. We all tried the pupusas and they were tasty. I also tried the chips and... More

The pupusas were just ok, kind of thick and clumsy and not too tasty. But the chicken soup was really good and flavorful with lots of chicken on the bone and vegetables. We got platanos for dessert, and they were not as ripe as they should have been, so they weren't very good.

Great place for a quick meal. Good service, hardworking staff and the pupusas were delicious. We ordered cheese and the pork and cheese. Both yum. Clean bathroom too, which counts.

Excellent food and tasty "hot" sauce... Rockin' to the Salvadorian music in the background... Small little place located next to a World Gym.. Taquitos = Excellent Papusa's = Excellent Large drinks, even have Salvadorian drinks & beer... Very casual place....located in a little shopping center... Highly Recommend!

Since we are trying different places and enjoy ethnic foods I thought we'd try this recommended small family owned restaurant. Perhaps we ordered the wrong thing in attempting to sample a variety of Salvadorian foods. The plate was all deep fried items that I wouldn't recommend since they all tasted pretty much the same. The papusas were the best of... More
