We are long time locals and are so happy to have found la perlita. For almost a year we have eaten here( or taken out) at least once a week. Food is always delicious and the family ( owners) , couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. Great little place.

We were looking for a restaurant in close proximity to the airport and found La Perlita on a search. A no-frills, family-owned kind of place serving authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices. If you like the more commonly used Mexican cuts like tongue, they have that too. But the basic cheese/chicken/asado enchiladas, etc are there too and very good.

"Cadillac" Margarita was ordinary, and definitely not worth the "upgrade" price. Ordered lunch, soft taco, and side guacamole, with tip $19.50 for ONE. Pricey with no atmosphere, located in a strip mall next to a desert field. Service was mediocre. IMHO, there are far better Mexican restaurants within close proximity.

We've been in Palm Springs for a week this trip. Being from an area where options were limited, we were keen to find good Mexican food. We've traveled to Mexico a few times and have enjoyed more than the run of the mill Mexican specialties. This restaurant is off the beaten path ... lots of locals were there. We were... More

Based on reviews I thought I'd try this restaurant for lunch. First, the food is "Americanized" Mexican, i.e., bland and almost tasteless. The enchilada sauce was so lacking in flavor they might as well have left it off. But the worst experience was realizing the total lack of hygiene by a female kitchen staff member. While waiting to use the... More

Four of us went for dinner. The restaurant was busy on a Sunday night but we were quickly seated. The good was very good. The Cadillac margarita a bit too sweet, the grapefruit margarita a bit too tart (it's hard to get sweet grapefruit this time of year), but some strategic exchanges made it all right. If be happy to... More

Located in a strip mall, this restaurant was a total surprise to me. It had been recommended by friends a couple of times, and they were right. The food was freshly prepared and very flavorful. What this restaurant lacks in dining ambience, it makes up for authentic flavors and friendly staff. This makes the top 3 for Mexican restaurants in... More

A bit out of the way if your not familiar with Palm Springs but well worth the drive. Met the owner, his daughter and son. A family business and the service was friendly and helpful. Lots on the menu to choose from. Complementary chips and dip. We had the Perlita shrimps, tamale, and tostada beef salad. Food came out quick,... More

Just ate supper here and the food was superb! Loved the homemade salsa so much we bought a 16 oz tub to take home:). If you want a casual atmosphere with superb service and excellent Mexican food visit this restaurant....you won't be disappointed. Priced VERY reasonably for the quality and quantity.
