We had an excellent Mexican food dinner with charming service. The waiter explained the menu and gave great advice. The guacamole was made for us fresh at the table: delicious! Shrimp ceviche superb. Tortilla fantastic. Top quality margaritas. We were told by locals that this was the best Mexican restaurant in Palm Springs- and they were right! Loved it!!!

This was our backup plan if we weren't able to get into the Rooster and the Pig restaurant that is several doors down in the adjacent strip mall. We don't like standing in lines, so we did end up at Rio Azul. Essentially on the same large block as the Best Western where we were staying, it was ideal for... More

You can get the bar menu at the regular dining tables. I tried the Canoa appetizer ($8); a delicious concoction of fried tortilla, beans, cheese, chorizo, guacamole, poco de gallo, etc - all of the good things in Mexican cuisine. Along with two-for-one happy hour margaritas, it was plenty for dinner. I'd do that again (well, maybe not so much... More

Arrived to an empty restaurant and we were seated in the smallest booth - too small for a normal sized person to fit! We moved to another empty table but we were told it was reserved and needed to wait. We were then reseated at the same table?? Standard Mexican menu - same as every other Mexican restaurant in the... The only reason why people go to the mexican food restaurant on Palm Canyon (you know which one) is because of the location. But only one block over is Rio Azul...the best Mexican food, margaritas and happy hour in Palm Springs. Yum! Our family has has many dishes on the menu and have never been disappointed. I especially LOVE their... More

All items were excellent from the tableside guacamole to the tamales, and great chorizo enchiladas. The margaritas were good as was the draft Mexican beers. Patio dining was well served by the efficient waiters.

It's really hard for my traveling companion and I to find places where I can have a lot of choices and they can have options for their super restrictive diet, without resorting only to diners . We'd found this place a few years ago and I remembered it on our trip this time, and we were excited to go back.... More

Menu has many choices We had a Rio Mango margarita and Rio Lime margarita. Both grandes and both really tasty. I had the Rio Salad with Shrimp instead of the chicken or carnitas. Too much dressing but really tasty and they are generous with the shrimp. My dad had a wet shrimp burrito and added cilantro to the top. It... More

Walked over here from our hotel because we'd heard about the guacamole and the margaritas. We sat on the patio to enjoy the sunset and the night air. We fully intended to order supper, but the guacamole and chips were so good we just kept ordering appetizers until we were full.

Had dinner at this restaurant as it was close to my lodging while in Palm Springs. I arrived and was immediately greeted and seated. The waitress was nice and the food was good. I had a 3 item combo, 2 tacos an enchiladas with rice and beans. Chips and salsa was good as well. I didn't have a cocktail. The... More
