Incredible experience and best sushi ever at Sandfish! A friend told me it was one of his favorite meals in Palm Springs, so I had high expectations. Small, unique restaurant with a cool vibe. EXCELLENT sushi rolls and Nigiri. Good old fashioned with Japanese whiskey...too! Patio was perfect - no frills but nice and spread out from other guests. Tried to find another time during our trip to sneak in for another meal but couldn't make it work, which i'm still bummed about. Highly recommend!More

I have not been out to a restaurant since mid March... I wanted to go someplace great and Sand Fish did not disappoint.. As always the food is absolutely incredible and they are the best sushi restaurant in Palm Springs as well as the entire...Coachella area.. But I'm not writing this review for the food alone.. our server, Martin, Launched the experience to another level. He knew the menu so well and everything he recommended was amazing... he us also a mixologist and made me a vodka/cucumber cocktail That is in the top 5 cocktails I've ever had. I cannot tell you how much better the evening was because he was our server. When you make your reservation ask if hes working. Martin will absolutely change an already incredible evening into something extra special. Thanks so much Martin for making the night great...More

Let's start with this, my wife is Vegan and they did an awesome job. "The Vegan Sushi was out of this world, I regret I didn't have another night to go back there". For those of us who greatly enjoyed the fish, it was top...notch. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was great, and the whisky options... too too many.More

Delicious food, great service. The restaurant was modern. We were seated immediately, even without a reservation.

We had booked a 7 pm table for 2 but late afternoon two other guests that were staying with us decided they wished to join. We called the restaurant at least a dozen times to no avail ( no answer or VM). We decided to...take a risk and show up early as we were new to the place as were spending a month in Palm Springs. The Host obliged a table outside yet not without serious attitude even after we repeated told him of our several attempts to call and change the reso online. He was more than rude in fact. We brushed it off as the front man at a bust restaurant doing his job. Anyhow our server was great and very informative guiding us to the proper amount of sushi/sashimi with just the right house specialties. It was delicious a super fresh. Highly recommend for locals that haven’t been or travellers that are in town for short stays, it’s an absolute must!!More

During my visit, I was happily impressed by the variety of Japanese whiskey offered by this establishment. Very creative drinks. I ordered the prefix menu, also very creative. I recommend you sit at the bar, and observe the making of some of the cocktails.

We tried the sandfish roll, the scallops, the hamachi kama, and order of albacore sushi. The scallops were especially good- the earthiness of the walnuts were a nice contrast to the saltiness of the scallops and the citrus of the yuzu sauce. They were served...on beautiful sea shells. The sandfish roll was tasty and generously portioned, hard to know the quality of the fish because it was covered in delicious sauce and crispy onions. The hamachi kama was cooked perfectly- so tender, clean and flavorful. The albororce sushi was the only disappoinment- the fish did not taste fresh. Perhaps this is not a place you go to for sushi but more for rolls and unique takes on Japanese dishes. The cocktails were nuanced, strong and perfect. I also loved the decor- the wall paper throughout was especially beautiful- even the cutlery and chopsticks were lovely and high quality. We also enjoyed the espresso creme brûlée for desert- it was perfection- not too sweet. The service was adequate. There were more dishes and cocktails we would like to try and would definitely come back!More

The restaurant is small and busy so I would recommend making a reso. We ordered the seaweed salad and grilled octopus, which was amazing. The classic sushi rolls, however, we found to be too heavy and too large in size.

6 of us, all loved our dinners. As others have noted, the rolls are huge. We also had a big variety of sushi and sashimi and cooked items. All were as good as you would hope for. Loved the uni. A slight disappointment with toro,...but I wouldn’t want that to cloud an overall great experience. Service was excellent and they had kept for us the specific table we had reserved. We all want to go back for the Omakase dinner.More

Lived up to the hype. Delicious and innovative rolls plus a complex and delicious spicy tuna roll. Our favorites were the Scandinavian Roll and Langoustine Roll. Both are approachable and filling. The spicy edamame had a very good heat. The staff surprised my husband with...green tea ice cream for his birthday. I ate most of it and it may be my new favorite ice cream flavor.More
