Still the best clam chowder!!!

My wife and I revisit Vivolo's every time we come to Monterey and it never disappoints. We truly love it and u can say I have never gotten better clam chowder any where. Add a breadbowl and garlic cheese lid and you're in heaven!

While I liked the menu if you're not a seafood lover this isn't the place for you. Very limited non seafood options. I had a bowl of chowder which was okay and the chicken piccata which was passable. My husband had the scallops which he described as good but not exceptional. All in all a nice basic restaurant in easy... More

We liked the chowder as others have said. I really liked the calamari and bread. Twice we have been there and struck up conversations with other diners. That was good.

This is the only place I will order clam chowder. It is thick and creamy without being heavy. Although I usually only go here for the clam chowder, I also love their daily fish special served in a couple of different ways with rice and freshly steamed vegetables. Friendly service too. Used to be a locals' place, but more Aquarium... More

I was in town for a night and wanted Clam Chowder, but didn't want to go to the pier and fight the tourists. This was wonderful. I opted for the garlic cheese topper and was NOT disappointed.

Ok, I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I ate here every day! I started with the pan seared rock cod special - light and lemony with crispy edges, and the butternut squash veggie was an unexpected delight. The next day I tried the fish and chips, and the 3rd day I had to stop again to get chowder... More

Everything we had (calamari, fried artichoke, fish and chips and chowder) were all excellent. The chowder was especially good - lots of tender clams (no sand), creamy, hot and not a lot of potatoes. The service was super friendly and fast.

After looking at fish the whole morning at the aquarium we got hungry for fish and chowder. This had good rating and with good reasons. Perfect sandwich, chowder and burger

Staff are all very friendly & attentive. Food is really good. Clam chowder is great & not as salty as those i tried at Sea Harvest & Fish Hopper. Every spoon has clams in it. Prawn Cajun & fish chips are not bad. Bailey cheesecake is soooo yummy. The crusts are simply lovely! ( after eating it up, then i... More

We met another couple for a "light dinner". First time here, and was not disappointed with the clam chowder. My wife and I had the bowl of chowder and bread....and were stuffed by the time we were done. The other couple had the bread bowl and for a little more, you can get the bread bowl cap toasted and with... More
