Really enjoyed our dinner here from appetizers to entree and wine pairings. The least favorite dish was the dessert and banyuls, more pedestrian. The ceviche was fabulously flavorful as well as the crudo. Had a taste of orange wine! How fun! Entrees really dazzled with the unique combination of textures and flavors, well done. I have to say I am... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVORITE REVIEW

When down in Pacific Grove/Monterey I struggle to eat anywhere else. I eat out around the SF Bay Area often, and I put this restaurant as one of the best restaurant experiences. I have eaten here numerous times over at least 15 years. The food is still as inventive and delicious as ever. Some things we had were the Fried... More

It had been a couple of years since we had eaten at Passion Fish and we really missed this great restaurant! We had a nice dinner with very eclectic appetizers and two main dishes. The service was excellent and the presentation of the food was that of a high class restaurant! We can't wait to return!

4 of us went for a special dinner. We enjoyed everything from the appetizers (e.g. Smoked trout ceviche tostaditas) to the mains (pick any fish) and dessert which we split (Meyer lemon panna cotta/blood orange curd/lemon verbena crème brûlée/lemongrass meringue). The waitress was very helpful without hovering, giving good advice. The noise level was fine. A relaxing and wonderful dinner.... More

This unassuming space (originally was a pancake house) offers an upscale restaurant with excellent food (sustainable seafood), friendly, informative, professional staff, fine wine list, and comfortable ambiance.

Passionfish was a delightful discovery during our visit to Pacific Grove. After spending days around the sea, it was great to find a place that does fish so very well. It's also a place with a conscience -- all of its seafood is sustainably sourced, even if that makes it difficult to source everything locally. The wine list is also... More

Delicious food! We have gone here for years and love it! It is a small Victorian home in downtown Pacific Grove converted to a restaurant so it is small and cozy.

A bit pricey--but that is typical out there. It was fun, good food, good atmosphere. It's been a year since I was there so I cannot be more specific. But I would certainly go again.

Passionfish is primarily a seafood restaurant, but one that offers vegetarian and meat dishes as well. I booked an early dinner (6 PM) on a Friday and was surprised to see that the restaurant was nearly full when I arrived. Definitely, use OpenTable to book if you plan to visit. High marks to my waitress who answered questions about different... More

I particularly loved my Dungeness crab and avocado salad! I liked it so much that we returned the next night to have it again! The wine list is extensive. My husband had the albacore tuna and loved that. The service was excellent. The ambiance is modern style and the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is not inexpensive but... More
