This place is a gem in the middle of Pacific Grove! It is a very cozy place with amazing food!!! Using local and organic fresh products, the plates are tasteful and beautifully presented. My husband and I had a plate of oyster and than the...plate with the entire fish that was more than enough for the two of us. The service was also very good. Looking forward to go back soon.More

We dined there on Tuesday November 3rd for brunch. The outdoor patio has lots of heaters to keep you warm and the cutest wooden deck with flowers & small string lights & smooth jazz playing on the outdoor speaker to make you feel comfy &...cozy!! Our server Juan Carlos provided the best customer service and made our dining experience truly memorable!! He was very attentive, honest & courteous and took care of all our needs. The customer service was excellent and THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL!!! We started with some hot mint tea which was served in a cute little tea pot & had fresh organic mint inside. I requested honey to sweeten it and was provided real honey in a jar. The tea was excellent. We had the fish and chips which is honestly the best fish & chips we’ve had anywhere and we have dined at the nicest restaurants all over the world. The wild caught cod was so moist & fresh and the batter was light & crisped to perfection!! The fish is quite a big portion and was served with the best chips which were russet potatoes seasoned & golden brown and prepared perfectly! I even loved the pickled cabbage & tartar sauce & their house made ketchup which was almost like a slightly sweetened salsa. The seafood bouillabaisse I ordered it without mussels because I don’t care for them and it was so amazingly flavorful and delicious and filled with lots of fresh caught cod fish & prawns and so comforting & filling especially on a cold day!! The bread served with the soup was also excellent dipped into the broth. The mushroom omelette was excellent with lots of shiitake mushrooms and I believe ricotta cheese which was very pleasing to the palette!! We wanted spinach in our omelette which wasn’t available so the chef added arugula which was an excellent substitute paired perfectly with the flavor of all the ingredients in the omelette. We really wanted to try the sticky toffee dessert but we were too full and definitely satisfied. We will be sure to leave room for dessert when we return and we can’t wait to come back here!!! This is our new most favorite restaurant in the area!!! We usually dine at Sardine Factory, Chart House, Flying Fish, Dametra, Nepenthe, Mission Ranch, Roy’s & Sticks just to name a few of our favorites in the area. Highest Compliments to the chef!!! He is So Very Talented & definitely combines the best flavors and seasons & cooks everything to perfection!!! Just to give you an idea, we had dinner at Roy’s on Pebble Beach the night before and we’ve dined there several times. I had lobster and scallops and my husband had the Wagyu Steak. The lobster was dry and scallops not flavorful at all and the wagyu steak was tough and overcooked. On a scale from 1 to 10 with 10 being the best we would rate Roy’s a 2 and Wild Fish a 10 based on the food. The chef at Wild Fish is Definitely The Business!!! The way he seasons and prepares everything is truly Exceptional!!! If it wasn’t our last day there we would have returned a few hours later for dinner. This will be our first choice from now on anytime we are in the Monterey/Carmel area.More

Great little restaurant doing its best during COVID-tide. Met an old friend of the family who is a regular. He recommended that we meet there. I'm keen on bending the curve, and we went at the right time because no one else was there (late...lunch). The hostess happily seated us at different tables since we're not from the same family group. The Crab Melt was absolutely delicious! Everything on the menu looked good, but that was what worked with my meal planning over the course of the day. It was so fulfilling that I ended up skipping dinner! Love that they have paper straws...but they don't last through a whole iced tea.More

We were in the mood for seafood and this place is next to Cafe Ariana, which we love. It was an odd experience frankly. At least one other couple sat down and then left before being served. It took a very long time to get...our food, and then the order was mixed up when we received it. My son had a mild case of indigestion starting a couple hours later. He had the fish and chips. No idea if that was the cause but seems likelly. I had a vegan sandwich with a salad. The sandwich was excellent, but the salad was right on the verge of wilted greens. It's possible it was under a heat lamp for too long as it took over 45 minutes to get the food. My wife loved her clam chowder and she had an Ahi Tostado that she really liked. The service was a little off. It kind felt like the waiter was ignoring us for long periods of time. After finally finishing, the waiter brought us a dessert menu and we said we'd order dessert, but then a different staff member brought us the bill, so we skipped dessert. So... we may try again but probably not. Perhaps it was just a bad waiter or they were short in the kitchen. It was probably busier than they expected.More

This is an odd review as we ate at one of the first nights of PG Al Fresco. The place is having supply issues so they didn't have the beer we ordered or the fish I wanted. The waitress brought a wine that she suggested...but not the one I ordered, brought the food I didn't order, etc.. in the end she comped the beer, comped the wine after I kvetched, and ended up bringing us our dinners in shifts but it was absolutely delicious bouillabaisse with large fresh shrimp, mussels and fish.More

The fish and chips we picked up last Saturday from Wild Fish’s weekly weekend pop-up was an extremely tasty treat, even if we weren’t able to eat in the restaurant. Their smoked fish chowder ranks among the best soup we’ve ever eaten! Definitely will do...this again soon.More

Food was very good, and good location in Monterey. It is noisy and does have a crowded feel to it but would go back and recommend it.

Wild Fish is like its name: tough on the line, but worth the effort. The food here is wonderful. We had the octopus appetizer, which was outstanding. The mushroom appetizer was nice but a bit bland. The fish entrees were all exceptionally well cooked and...flavorful. Nice wine pairings. We didn’t have dessert, but it looked good at tables around us. We ate at around 7 on a Saturday and the restaurant filled up as we ate. Servers looked harried as the restaurant is larger than it appears when you first arrive. As a result, there were some gaps in service — long wait between appetizers and entrees, a drink request that was never delivered. For the price the service should be exceptional, so four stars instead of five. Management might seriously consider adding a server on busy Weekend nights. The service may leave you a bit wanting, but you’ll enjoy the food at Wild Fish.More

This must have been the first time in my life that I have dined alone at a restaurant, had good food, and left feeling worse than I did when I walked in the door. When I arrived, the hostess was nowhere to be seen. Eventually,...she appeared and told me to seat myself anywhere. I did so, but neither the hostess nor the waitress came anywhere near me until, after I had been there for fifteen minutes, the hostess brought menus to the adjacent table. I then asked the hostess for a menu. Shortly after that, the waitress came to take my order, and I explained that I had waited at my table while other diners were given menus and had their orders taken. Eventually the busser delivered the glass of wine and the bottle of mineral water I had ordered, but the water was at room temperature. The waitress gave me a complementary glass of mineral water with ice in it and agreed to put it in the refrigerator and bring it out with my main course, but when the busser arrived with my food, she did not bring any water. I called the matter to the waitress' attention, and she brought out the same bottle, which was no colder than before and gave me some ice to go with it. I had finished my main course and was starting to work on my side dish of broccolini when the busser arrived and asked my if she could take my plate, which had my fork on it. How she imagined I could eat the broccolini without a form escapes me. Obviously aware that I was not having a good evening, the waitress then offered to comp me on a dessert. I was hopeful that chocolate might put me in a better frame of mind, but the dish turned out to be nowhere near as good as the main course. In the end, I got comped a glass of wine, a dessert, and a bottle and an additional glass of mineral water, but i would rather have paid full fare and gotten proper service and a proper dessert. And I was not the only customer getting comped that night because of the problems with the servicce. As it was, the main course was overpriced. One can find fresh wild fish that is at least as well prepared for less money and with much better service elsewhere on the Monterey Peninsula. After I got back home from my visit to Pacific Grove, I sent the proprietors a handwritten letter describing my experience. I never heard back. I can only assume that they do not care about their customers' experiences and think that selling well prepared wild fish at unreasonable as good enough.More

Wild Fish is a delightful Eatery in downtown Pacific Grove. All their entrees are made with local sustainable fish. The menu has a great variety. We slurped down a half-dozen Pacific Northwest oysters that were outstanding. The special salad was beet and radish - amazing....The bread was fantastic. My wife had the whole fish in harissa - delicious! I had the bouillabaisse which was equally delicious. Service was very good and our waiter Derek turned us on to the best kayaking spot.More
