We are Wild Fish loyalists! We fell in love with the original in Mendocino and love the new location in Pacific Grove too! Love it ever time. Order literally anything. Michelin guide has missed you! Star worthy!

Food of the highest quality. I had the oysters followed by thw whole rock cod, washed down with a glass of Alvarinho. We had been to Mendocino before. Food every bit as good, with the added bonus of Jazz

The Ricotta salad was worth the trip, the rest of my meal paled in comparison. The salmon was nice, the bouillabaisse was not “amazing” but was good. Perhaps paired with wine it might have brought out something hiding in the flavor, but we are not...drinking tonight. Our bill for a shared salad and two mains was $100. We enjoyed the atmosphere and live music on the patio. Definitely would return.More

We had enjoyed the original Wild Fish Restaurant in Little River for many years. Unfortunately they closed last year and we decided that a special trip was due to get our fix of Kelvin & Liz's Pacific Grove location. We were not disappointed. Starting with...the Sablefish collar, nice and crispy skin and luscious rich meat. The Salmon was prepared perfectly and the Ahi was beautifully presented. Closing with Sticky Toffee pudding and a nice glass of aged Port. Service was friendly and attentive. The vibe in the restaurant was different from the original but it is a larger facility and there is more going on. We will be back, now we get to explore the Monterey area in addition to Mendocino.More

Sablefish was delicious. Asparagus underneath was overcooked. Mussels were great. Fried calamari was tasty and gluten-free. Arugula salad was fine. All appetizers were brought at the same time. Service was fine. Outdoor seating comfortable on a cool night. All in all, a good experience.

I made a same day reservation at Wild Fish on 12/27/21 but called a few hours later to cancel because a member of my party was not feeling well and suspected we had all been exposed to Covid. I spoke with the owner, Liz, who...told me that we would be charged $100 if we cancelled, and she said the alternative was for the rest of the party to still come. We did not feel comfortable taking that risk and are glad we did not, because the sick member of our party was confirmed to have Covid the next morning, and the rest of the party is now isolating. I called Liz and she still held firm on not reimbursing the $100. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant if you have concerns about contracting Covid.More

I had lunch here on a Saturday. I ordered the special, which if I recall correctly was sablefish. A generous portion, perfectly cooked, was served with wonderfully crunchy vegetables (that is, not overcooked) and a nice sauce. I didn't have anything else besides a soft...drink, but I appreciated the fine meal.More

My wife and I had gone to Wild Fish’s sister location in Little River many times before it closed and it was always one of our favorite restaurants in that area. We were recently staying in Santa Cruz and drove an hour to have dinner...at the Pacific Grove location and it was every bit as excellent as we remembered. Wild Fish can hold its own against any seafood restaurant in San Francisco. The smoked fish chowder was terrific and not heavy to the point of being filling. If you’ve never had sablefish, get it here—my wife’s was cooked perfectly, wonderfully crispy skin and all, which she usually won’t touch. I had never had a whole cooked fish before, but the rock cod was a great introduction to it. By the end, we thought we were too full for dessert, it remembered Kelvin’s Sticky Toffee Pudding, which was the perfect size to share. Great selection of mostly local wines, terrific service, and a chance to catch up with the owners made it more than worth the drive. Also, if you ever go here and the Mushroom Veloute Soup is on the menu, just order it. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever tasted.More

The service here was super. The food was excellent. I had the sea bass in parchment with vegetables. It was cooked to perfection. I am not a risotto eater. So I didn’t eat it. My friend ate mine and said it was good. Albeit a...little bland. All in all. Very tasty.More

My husband and I went to Wild Fish while on vacation in Monterey. We had a little table at the front window and the staff was very friendly. I had the Ricotta salad (Roasted beets, radicchio, baby gem lettuce and house buttermilk ricotta) and my...husband had Steamed Mussels. Our entree's were Halibut and Bouillabaisse. Everything was fresh and delicious. The menu suggests wine pairings for all dishes.More

I've eaten here before a few times, and have sent visiting friends here. I had a table booked for three people on Mother's Day. The restaurant was empty = 100% of outdoor tables open. They show my party of three to a tiny two top...on the sidewalk in the middle of traffic flow for servers and even to some degree just people walking down the sidewalk. I felt that we could not fit there and actually have three entree plates, glasses and appetizer etc on the table at the same time. Even though the restaurant was empty, they would not allow us another table. We did (politely) ask for another option, and were told explicitly that for an outside table, this small two top in traffic flow was our only option. We had to leave as it would be impossible for us to dine there remotely comfortably, and when you are spending $30-$60+ per person with drinks, apps, dessert etc, why bother with the discomfort??? Ruined my mothers day. I called and talked to the manager later - he said they successfully sit parties of three at those tiny tables (maybe desperate walk ins, but even those with month-in-advance reservations?). The manager even said - "three tops are a challenge", but he did offer to accommodate us that day to try and make up for it, which was something I guess. But why not accommodate a 3-top when they are actually at your restaurant honoring their reservation?? TLDR: If you are a table of 3, be prepared for a tiny two top table even if other tables are available!More
