We really like the idea of trying something new, and this was a great find at a reasonable price. You can sit outside on the covered patio and have a fantastic view of the harbor. Service was quick, informative, friendly and attentive. I had the fish and mixed shellfish moqueca and it was delicious. Not spicy, but full of flavor.... More

I had lunch there and it was one of the best meals I ever had. The server was great . The portions were huge . The menu is huge and they have a great wine list. I will definitely go back. The view is so pretty make sure you get a window table.

We went to dinner here on a Friday night. The food was okay. Service was good. My husband ordered a side dish that was forgotten. If this is the #1 in Oxnard then the city has a poor eating scene.

First time we went there, my husband ordered a dish that was so spicy, he almost choked. He asked the waitress why she didn't tell him it was so spicy and she said she thought he knew. Food was marginal. Second time we went, we went with a group of people and the food again was marginal.

In Oxnard for the night, so we decided to check out Moqueca based on Tripadvisor reviews. We shared a fish -shrimp moqueca. Yum! I'm not sure why it's so expensive though. There wasn't a whole lot of fish or shrimp to jack up the price. The fried plantains were really sweet, some of the best I've eaten. Suddenly the music... More

My wife and I had an outstanding dinner last weekend at Moqueca! The food was incredible and so nice to try the authentic Brazilian dishes. The service was very pleasant, helpful and watched out for each other. Asked for and received a great suggestion for which wine to accompany our meal. Then we were treated to Samba dancers performing throughout... More

Reviews had this resturant in the number one position for Oxnard? Competition in Oxnard is not really the stiffest but I would give them a pretty good at best. We ordered beers for a start and two people who ordered the same Brazilian beer got something different than ordered. I guess the customer is not always right since the waiter... More

This restaurant is virtually across the street from our house - so we eat here often - especially with guests, as it is a unique and delicious experience. This restaurant's specialty is the moqueca - which is a dish from northern Brazil. It is almost a seafood stew with a tomato, yucca based sauce. It is heavenly and they prepare... More

After reading about this place in the LA Times, we decided to try it. The seafood, served in delicious sauce in cute earthenware pots.....made it a little bit different than anything we had tried before. Worth a visit!!
