We stopped here for lunch after visiting Prairie Creek State Park. It was one of a handful of cafes in Orick. We stopped because there were several cars in front and assumed this meant it was good. We never found out. The hostess told us they were slammed and it would take awhile to get our food. That was okay.... More

More people need to stop here. We kind of stumbled upon, while visiting the Redwood Forest, Gas stations and places to eat, around this area, are slim pickins. So we went in, thinking we would just settle on this one. Boy were we wrong. This is a legit diner. The Hostess told me, that they had not changed a thing,... More

After reading the reviews, I had to try this café. I cannot pass up good homemade pie! We just had sandwiches for dinner - I had grilled cheese on sourdough bread and it was just right. Also came with a bowl of soup - chicken noodle - and I was pleasantly surprised it was homemade and delicious. Lots of pieces... More

Came in thinking that this would be awful but it was SO great! Beautiful plants everywhere, nice room w/ TV and nice bathroom especially for a cheap motel. NOT BAD at all! The guy at the front desk was very nice and even offered to watch our stuff for us while we backpacked. Don't be scared by the bad reviews,... More

This is a "must". There are few diners left, certainly in California. This one has all of the classic aspects from table and counter service to the cooks behind the counter. Homemade pies of all kinds to follow the basic diner breakfast or lunch. All home-made. Indescribable. I like good food and find the best restaurants. This one is unusual... More

We stopped by for lunch on our way through the redwoods. The owner was very personable and the burger and fries were great. Would recommend if you're looking for a quick place for lunch on your way through the redwoods.

Stopped for a late lunch. Only table available had not been cleared & previous diners left their check & money on the table. After we occupied the table we understood. One person was taking care of the front. I don't know if she ever knew we were there. We are patient people but it became obvious they were overwhelmed. Dining... More

There are not many places to eat in the redwoods national Park and I never would have stopped here if it weren't for Tripadvisor. We were really hungry and there are many places to eat so we stopped here and were pleasantly surprised. My partner is a vegetarian and he ate their salad bar which was really good with a... More

Stayed in Orick where there is limited places to eat out. We stopped in after a hike and did not want to eat a full meal but saw the pies! They have a choice of flavors that could please any taste. Banana cream, berry pies, lemon, pecan, chocolate, peanut butter and more. The cinnamon rolls looked great too! We saw... More

We had a late lunch at the Palm café. I had the Turkey BLT and my wife a Cheese burger, and both were well prepared. They offered a nice salad bar which was pretty good and a welcome option to fries after a week of eating out. Not a lot of options in this neck of the woods. Good food... More
