IF the weather is good, stop here for sandwiches to go and supplies. Then picnic on the coast somewhere along here. Quick, inexpensive and you spend time on the ocean instead of in a restaurant. We split a sandwich and chips, they are not huge but well worth the small expense.
South of town next to a gift shop.

We stopped by the Shoreline Deli to gas up the car and use the restroom and ended up picking up all sorts of provisions for our road trip. The ladies running the place were very nice. I highly recommend going to the back of the store for a sandwich! It was so yummy and really some of the best food I've ever gotten on the road. Much better than I expected from a "gas stop".

We stopped here for supplies and found the store to be small, but very ample in offerings for picnic food, supplies and side of the road meals. Their deli had ready made sandwiches (yummy) and also a nice selection of meats and cheeses. The store had wine and beer and any type of camping supply you can imagine - who knew? this has to be the best kept secret of Orick.

Stopped by here to get a sandwich, fruit, and snack. Cute deli. My son ordered an egg salad sandwich - she took the boiled eggs, peeled them and made it on the spot. Such a unique place. What was of note were the beautiful flowers outside.

We popped into the Shoreline Deli and Market to pick-up provisions for our visit to Redwoods. Good shakes but burgers were average.

I haven't eaten here (and since we moved out of the area, it's likely I never will now), but you HAVE to stop here to visit the peanut statue!!
Back story: In 1997, loggers from Orick, CA carved a big wooden peanut out of redwood and drove it out to Pres. Jimmy Carter, to protest job loss as a result of the Redwood National Park expansion. It was a big, weird joke; you can read about it on Google.
This misshapen hunk of redwood has traveled the country and back, and now sits in the parking lot of this store, looking for all the world like...absolutely nothing. A bench, maybe. But it's a peanut. It's definitely supposed to look like a peanut. Stop and take a selfie with it (and then grab a sandwich and tell me if it's any good).

We were driving up the coast from the Redwood National Forest and saw this quaint gas station with the beautiful flowers out front.... decided to pull over and explore. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the sign for "deli" on the store front!!! Idea struck.... PICNIC..... everyone said " Great Idea". Make me a turkey with everything!!!! Ham with mayo!!! Fill mine with vegetables!!! As we were waiting, another customer ordered a tamale and another person ordered a sandwich!!! Popular place!!! We drive up the coast about 20 miles and enjoyed our spur of the moment picnic!!! Delicious!!!

Needing some supplies and souvenirs for our honeymoon trip, this store and the employees were very friendly. Everything we needed was there, including some super glue.

This place was recommended by a park ranger and surely fit the bill for lunch. I give it an average rating because it was a bit run down and could be a turnoff for some. The sandwiches were good and the company was excellent. I would recommend it for a place to get lunch in between stops at the Redwoods Parks.

If this place had not been recommended by a local and if we did not have somewhat of an adventurist spirit, we would not have stopped here. Orick is a small town near the Lady Bird Johnson Grove of the Redwoods National Park.
Sweet lady in this small "market" custom prepares your sandwiches from a variety of breads, meats and condiments. Chips and beverages are available in the store.
Great place for lunch or picnic items. Do not miss lunch here. It will be a highlight of your visit to the Redwoods.

We popped in for sandwiches and had the best conversation with the locals. It's a great place to grab a simple but delicious lunch as you explore the Redwoods!!

So, the sign says sandwiches but....nope. They do have frozen chunks of meat and pizza, though. They have only a few things, they were out of most things on the shelves. We grabbed a granola bar and got outta there.
