Authentic German ingredients, that I haven't been able to find anywhere in LA. From many kinds of cheeses to amazing selection of meats and sausages. This deli is small, but have so much! German beer you cannot find. The outside of the building is very discouraging, but look past that. The sandwiches are soo amazing! Don't forget to grab a... More

This is a deli. It offers a large variety of pork meats, sausages, hams, salamis, pates, and other pork products, homemade or imported from Germany. They serve a delicious ham salad and other sandwiches at lunch. The place is small, with only one table, so plan to eat at home. You also can find fresh baked German breads, and other... More

Mattern's has been in Orange for over thirty years. It is THE place to get anything you would want from a German deli. Their sandwiches are a great value, plus you can enjoy a German beer with it! The owners are there every day working, and speak fluent German since they are from Germany. They know what they are doing... More

Great selection of sausages custom made on the premises. We always buy Swedish potato sausage for Christmas.

I am a huge fan of Travel Channel's Andrew Zimmern and Anthony Bourdain. I have found Orange Counties culinary offerings wanting in my attempts to mimick similar experiences on my own. Upon finding Mattern's deli with blood sausage, head cheese, etc. I was ecstatic. I had never had these before. When I got there I was surprised to find that... More

Mattern offers excellent German sausage and cheese, tasty sausages and great meat! As a German I regularly go to this butcher shop, so as not to do without these German delicacies. No matter what you buy: Everything is good and delicious. The little supermarket is stocked with many German products and an Oktoberfest can be celebrated during the whole year!!!... More

The centerpiece of Mattern is a great meat counter featuring their own sausages and deli meats. They provide these meats to many of the local restaurants. They also have German groceries, beer and wine. They also make great sandwiches from the very same deli meats. Their Reuben is on point! Wash it down with a German brew. Spartan seating at... More
