The service was wonderful! We sat outside and it was simply beautiful. The menu was extensive. Amazing, fresh and ample portions. We were a group of six and each chose different dishes, we enjoyed them all.

5 stars. If you can’t find something you’ll want to eat on this menu - you aren’t looking. Huge choice of options. Great service by wait and bus staff. Huge portions. Very good. Will be back again
First visit to Rutabegorz for a late lunch and I’ll be back! Ample vegetarian options left me asking the server for suggestions and he said that the Peasant Mushrooms are a big fave for folks like me. Excellent flavors on the stuffing and very filling...(over half came home with me) due to the accompanying cheese bread and brown rice. Lots of cheese. My friend ordered the cream cheese turkey sandwich and was impressed most by the squaw bread (which was also my cheese bread and I second that opinion!) Service was very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our seating on the well-shaded patio area. Thumbs way up for this spot!More
We met up with some old college friends and rehashed the last several years while enjoying dinner here. The food is good with a distinct bent towards vegetarian / vegan / healthy entrees. It's a cute little place just a short walk from Old Town...Orange. While it was peak dinner time, we found a table isolated towards the back on the patio where we could talk quietly and catch up. The service was friendly and helpful and brought drinks and table settings quickly. The overall wait for our entrees was under 15 minutes and our drinks were constantly refilled. It's a bit out of the way for us so I doubt we'll go back. Definitely give it a try if you're in the area. Parking can be a bit of a trick but just be patient.More
I love all the Rutabegorz places but especially this one in Old Town Orange. It's a short walk away from the Musco Center, so an ideal place to grab a drink and a light snack during afternoons when planning a matinee performance. My personal favorites...are the hummus with veggie sticks and the avocado toasties.More
The food is healthy and good and the atmosphere is very "homey". My only issue with this location is the crazy fee we were charged to eat cake at the table. We were a group of 9 who each bought a meal and beverage, plus...appetizers for the table. When the meal was over, we opened a cake that we had bought outside and brought in. We had our own knife to cut it and used napkins to put a small piece out for everyone. No extra utensils, napkins or plates were requested or used, it only took a short time longer to share this part of the meal, the server played no part in the entire scene, and we were charged a $20 fee for the "service".More
The menu on offer is truly a diverse collection of healthy, delicious, homemade food. The building id so quaint and clever, and we have enjoyed heating here many times over the years.
The menu at this charming restaurant is huge and very unique. Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was super. Charming outdoor seating in Old Town, Orange. There are lots of good restaurants in the area and this is a favorite.
Met friends here for a lunch and was quite amazed at the place. It is an old, refurbished house in the middle of "old historic Orange" downtown. The are outside table and plenty of room inside. The staff was great, the menu had was too...many choices...something for everyone and the service fantastic. The food was excellent and the prices reasonable. As Chapman College is close by there were several professor and students eating lunch. A very special place indeed.More
A group of 14 had a reservation and were seated outside because of the beautiful weather. The server was very good and helpful. He was so efficient, nice and helpful I got the feeling he was management or the owner. The group I was with...has some very fussy/demanding ladies that always expect to be served like royalty. They were all very happy! The restaurant is surrounded by beautiful landscaping and the very healthy lunch was great. I got a huge bowl of Chinese Chicken salad.More
I had never been to this Rutabegorz but it was similar to the one in Fullerton. We were celebrating 🥳 my daughter’s Birthday 🎂 and had a great time! We were offered a holiday appetizer for $1! It was 😋 delicious!! I had the Chicken...Vegetable Soup. As advertised on the extensive menu, it was loaded with vegetables! My daughters really enjoyed the Sangrias. The sandwiches looked great 👍 too.More
We love the patio here and are always welcomed with smiles and well wishes by staff. We’re never rushed. The service staff is wonderful and the food is fresh, healthful and yummy. Great menu with lots of variety. Enjoy.
We organized a reunion with our favorite teacher and treated him to lunch here. It was a party of ten, and every person totally and completely enjoyed what they ordered! The salads, sandwiches, and wraps were amazing and fresh. The menu is full of creative...lunch items and one is better and more delicious than the next. Be sure to ask the waiter or waitress if you are struggling to decide between two great choices. Lots of vegetarian and vegan choices, very well marked. WE LOVED THIS PLACE!More
I hate to confess that this place my favorite haunts back in the 1970, but it is true, AND it still my favorite! The choices of decadent huge gooey desserts, fancy coffees, and platters filled entrees remains. (As hippie food I miss the squaw bread...sandwiches filled with sprouts & sunflower seeds - but not much has changed.) & it just gets better! Comfort food at its best. Dollar dip if the month, happy hour specials, soup of the day & special homemade desserts. For us celiac Rutabegorz menu offerings are great! I usually get the enchiladas with sauté veggies, Thai nachos or bowl of soup, but has a lifetime to try most of the enormous menu. GF cookies are even better, GF soup choice make it hard to decide, salads come in antique mixing bowls. All are served on vintage dishes too. The Old Towne Orange Cottage house is delightful decorated all the time & wackiest during any holidays! The staff is honestly friendly, caring, loyal and all overseen by Vern, who is a treasure! Her touches are everywhere & she makes the Orange Rutabegorz our favorite. Closed on Sunday, we will return to the Tustin Rutabegorz where the butternut lasagna is incredible. Btw Orange also has the mermaid bathroom...They just made it gender neutral for all to see!More
We were here with family celebrating my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. The menu is a little overwhelming, but as near as I could tell there were no bad choices! Plenty of options for pretty much any taste, and everything we had from the the Cockie Leeky...soup to the Tuna sandwich was excellent. My wife was so pleased that she even bought a sweatshirt on the way out!More
