Had dinner here for the first time. Loved the tapas menu and the variety of food types. Several of us had the paella; it was excellent! The dining rooms themselves are lovely, and the art work displayed is really nice and interesting art. Don't know how we missed Azu before but it is a must dining spot now for every... More

The salad wasn't all lettuce like most places. Most of the items on my plate were, cucumbers, garbanzo beans, beets and hearty veggies with a little lettuce.

I had lunch - alone - here recently and i was very content. I'd read great reviews and the menu sounded excellent. It was. the quality and flavour of the food was all very fresh. Service was friendly. They were out of the main ingredient of what I wanted to order and when the waitress saw my disappointment offered to... More

Azus serves mediterranean food, including a number of Spanish (European, not Mexican) style dishes. Service is usually very good but can be variable. Recommend the paella.

We were impressed with the food - especially the child relleno which we found creative and exceeding our expectations. They have a back patio but said they no longer open it so the only outdoor seating was on the street. Inside seemed hip and nice looking but too cold and loud for our particular preference.

Great food and drink but service is slow. Lovely tapas with good selection and authentic. Paella on order without lengthy wait. Kids food were good portion. Everything felt properly made and cooked ! Front room got good atmosphere and there's a garden area at the back. We enjoyed our evening!

This place is perfect for an afternoon drink with a tasty vegetarian taco. They have a very large eating area that borders the kitchen, and the rear outdoor patio area is an oasis.

The food at best was ok. The service was good and they are very friendly there. We were expecting some music there that night for my wife's birthday but they couldn't provide any due to a wedding that was being held in the lounge room. Also because of that we couldn't sit in the back patio as I had requested... More

Description
We at Azu believe the best dishes are made from fresh ingredients. We look to the local farmers that we know grow quality organic and natural produce, that help give our menu that special California twist. Our bar menu is filled with craft cocktails with juices squeezed right from Ojai's citrus orchards where are bartenders hand pick fruit to help make the perfect mimosa, martini's, and Richies famous Bloody Mary. We love supporting our California wineries, breweries, farmers, and hormone free companies.

We buy locally and organically whenever possible and strive to add a California twist to our Spanish inspired menu. For over 10 years, Owner and Chef Laurel Moore has taken this inspiration and has created a ambiance and menu that has the feel of a mediterranean retreat, authentic destination, and local Ojai escape.

We strive to provide the tastiest and freshest ingredients while preparing our dishes with the pure natural flavor of farm driven produce and flavors. We offer organic, vegan, Paleo, gluten free, vegetarian, and other dietary restricted options as well as healthy nutritional options for kids. Our dishes are designed to meet the needs of Everyone who walks through our historic doors. We cater to couples nights out, large parties and receptions, wedding events, Happy Hour connoisseurs, anniversary celebrations, outdoor dining, Tapas tastings, wine tastings, beer samplings, corporate events, and have a wide variety of Tapas and Celebration menus to choose from.

Whether you are looking to escape from the hustle bustle of the city or are an Ojai local in need of a special night out. Our destination style atmosphere and farm fresh California Tapas, fresh juice cocktails, and local wine and beer, is the perfect place to find sanctuary within a culinary inspired establishment.
