Let me make it clear that I am not a vegan so this type of restaurant would not typically appeal to me. However, I consistently return to this unique restaurant as the food is good and the ambiance is so funky. The smoothies are also great.

Very delicious "real food" that tastes great! So much food is grown in this area; nice to have a place to eat it right from the farm. Unique smoothie flavors. Delicious

The only thing I treally didn't like about this otherwise great place is that I am a truly BONE LAZY breakfast-er, and I want to sit my lazy self down and have things brought to me. At The Farmer and The Cook you enter through the small grocery, stand in line a bit, and then order at the counter, get... More

This is a restaurant where you walk up to the counter to order. You can sit inside or outside - plenty of seating in different areas. The food was delicious and very fresh. Casual and fun. We met some neat people there. Lots of groups, families with kids, friends and couples.

Good vegan food. Slow service, but it is kind of a "people's restaurant" for very casual dining...it is also a grocery store, so food ordering and food buying take place in the same line. It is quaint and comfortable.

In my research on Ojai, this place kept getting mentioned and I was really looking forward to trying the Farmer and the Cook. But both my friend and I were disappointed. We ordered the vegetable tacos and corn tamale. The food seemed very fresh but was rather bland and lacked much flavor. In particular, the tamale was dense and mealy... More

Love it! My husband said if he could eat food like this all the time he become a vegan. Eclectic comfortable was able to sit with our dog out on the patio.

Food was wonderful, music fantastic, and people unforgettable. We had a fire roasted pizza with all fresh organic ingredients , sangria was delicious and hearing music out on the patio on a warm summers night was a real treat.

Dropped by for lunch and was pleased to see that it was fresh fruit and vegetables with a vegan option menu. i had the 'special'; a veggie burger and salad that was so good my mouth is wanting another one. Super casual atmosphere with inside and outside seating. They apparently have music and certainly have good vibes!

There are a lot of restaurants that serve good food, and a lot that serve organic food, but few that serve good creative organic food, this being one of them. The produce is locally sourced (hence the restaurant's name -- see their website) and the Mexican oriented menu is varied enough for most palates. There is both inside and outdoor... More

A cafe-market-bakery-salad bar serving Mexican food using organic chiles, tomatoes and tomatillos grown at the farm. The tortillas are handmade and the sangria is topped with local Ojai citrus. Quite a few vegan, raw and gluten-free offerings; everything else is vegetarian. Lovely outdoor patio with a striped green awning and a view of the mountains.
