We went with 3 other couples on a Sunday evening. Had to wait about 5 minutes for another table to clear so we could all sit together. Waiting is a good thing at Irina's, especially if it's your first time. They have so many domestic,...craft & German beers in bottles and on tap it takes a while to figure out what you want. Between the 8 of us, we tried/shared the following: Basket of fries: sounds basic, but these babies are so thin and crispy (must try) Onion rings: I'm usually not a fan, but they're so light and flavorful, not greasy Kohlroulade: The German burrito- never had anything like it and will order every time JÄGERSCHNITZEL: I could eat it for breakfast KÄSESPÄTZLE: I'd get it as a side to a burger or any other dish that doesn't come with spatzle. Fries are good dipped in the onion cream sauce. Sauteed Spatzle: It was a little crispy for me, but the flavor was dead on Erbsensuppe: Much heartier and more flavorful than any typical "house" soup regardless of the type of cuisine. If you aren't a spatzle fan, this soup will make anyone smile. Currywurst: Hot. Not like a 9 or 10 at a Thai restaurant, but still enough heat to make your upper lip sweat. Great with a piece of sourdough to sop up the sauce. Meatballs: Traditional, fine-ground (I'm guessing a blend of pork and beef) balls that really taste like what you'd get in Bavaria. They're heavy, but an order shares easily amongst 4 adults. We saw several burgers and hot sandwiches being served while there and they all looked appetizing. Not to mention they're bigger than average size servings. During football season they supposedly draw a nice crowd and run specials during games. It's definitely a "locals" place and if you didn't know it was there, you'd drive by for years, as I did. WARNING: if you try the SCHNEEGESTÖBER, their only dessert as far as I could tell, be prepared to ask for the recipe and get denied. Rarely do we order a dessert while eating out, but this blueberry delight is going to be our "ice cream" date go-to from now on. Our server was Jonas, and he couldn't have been more engaging and knowledgeable. I believe he is Irina's son and clearly takes a lot of pride in running the front of the house.More

This pub is one of our favorite places to go when in Oceanside. The beer is nice and cold in a tall glass and the food is great. This trip I had a cup of ;pea soup, polish sausage with saurkraut and mashed potatoes. We...topped our meal off sharing a berry cream desert. My husband said next time we get out own. Too good to share. If you watched Cheers on TV you will feel like you are living it. The people are friendly and the owner and his wife are terrific.More

This is a little gem of a place. It looks like a dive bar but that’s where the similarities end. The staff are super friendly. The menu has classic bar food such as burgers, fries, salads etc and also has really good German dishes. The...photo in this review is Kohlroulade which is cabbage stuffed with beef n rice and a vege sauce... so good! The Jager schnitzel is another great dish. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are big. They have a good range of domestic and imported beers at the bar including some nice German brews. There’s a couple of pool tables as well. Absolutely recommended and worth a visit.More

It appears that we have all become so into dining that pleasing everyone is difficult. I prefer smaller non commercialized establishments. Irinas is what you make of it. Plenty of options for seating. Pool tables and music. Kind of a bar scene that you do...not see much of around here at least with good food. Megan our waitress is awesome. Makes you feel like you have been going there for years. The German food is great. If you go have a good time have a cold beer which there are lots of good ones. The Jagerschnitzel (breaded pork cutlet ) is the best!More

Best Germany food I have ever had. Irina really is the cook and cooks and serves authentic German food. I wish I lived here and would eat here at least twice a week if not more. My associate had a cheeseburger with bacon & egg...and he said it’s was the most delicious burger he ever ate. Beer & wine choices are great. Don’t miss this one, a little out of the way, but SO worth it. Makes my mouth water leaving review!More

Irina's might strike you on first glance as a small Oceanside dive bar. I'm guessing at one time it probably was. But take a look into the beer fridge and the taps and you realize this is a place to get good beer in a...friendly spot. Then look up and see the German food items they offer, fresh from the kitchen. Jackpot! Irina's is a family business with Austrian, German, and even Swiss influence. The staff is friendly and welcoming, but they can get busy. Featuring some of the best pea soup to be had, an excellent schnitzel, currywurst, and great burgers. And great sides. Don't miss their crispy fries, especially good with the curry sauce. It may take a moment to find, they are across from the old drive in, but it is worth it!More
