This food was delicious and the service was phenomenal. I had the salmon with a baked potato with a salad and it was amazingly delicious. I loved the wine … but it was secondary to the meal. I loved that they had a kid’s menu...with activities for my 7 year old to do. The fact that they had kid friendly cups is huge for me too since my kid is a bit messy. My husband ordered a well done steak and said it was very adequate but what can you expect with a well done steak 🤷🏼‍♀️. The salad was impressive bc you can order it custom made at your table(side). We were too full for desert so I can’t tell you if that was good but I’ll bet that it is.More

I'm just over 50 yrs old, and this is the type of place that's very reminiscent of where my parents might take us out to when we had company for a nice steak dinner circa 1979. Unfortunately for this place, it seems stuck in that...era. Nothing wrong with that alone, however it hasn't kept up with the chain competition the's emerged in the last few decades. Everything from the decor to the selections to the quality. We had both the Prime Rib and the Rib Eye, and both were nothing special. Think modern day family diner level quality. On the plus side, the staff was very friendly and I really enjoyed the tableside salad tray option, however I would not go here again, there's simply too many other places with an equal or better cost point and a much bettertasting. product.More

On February 15, my husband & I went to The Hungry Hunter in Oceanside for my birthday. My Filet was more medium than medium rare. When I cut into it, it was tough & stringy. The steak was not of good quality & definitely over...priced! They were noticeably understaffed as evidenced by our poor waitress trying to keep up the pace. She & the bus boy were great. When we first walked in, there were two podium like counters w-“bus tubs” on them! That was a huge turn off. This Hungry Hunter has seen better days. It’s been in this location since the 70’s & appears “run down.” I did not see a manager anywhere! It is really unfortunate that this “dinner house” is not living up to the hype. I ordered prime rib . It was very tough . Had difficulty cutting it let alone chewing It. Baked potato was hard and undercooked , could not eat it .

Recently went here for an early dinner. When we entered the restaurant we were immediately hit with a musty odor. Possibly the carpets need to be better cleaned or replaced. The service was very good. The entire wait staff were dressed in all black attire...reminiscent of the old style steakhouse and they all wore masks. Our server was attentive and not overbearing. I had the prime rib which was delicious. One disappointing element was that even recognizing that the atmosphere is fairly casual people were seated wearing baseball caps with some wearing them backwards. It may be old fashioned but we were not eating at some fast food franchise and expected more from the facility. If we continually allow people to dumb down where are we going?More

A nice selection of steak and non-steak options. Service was friendly and very efficient. The steaks were well prepared and tasty. The included house salad also was very good.

I always have a five star meal here but the takeout only has caused quality to suffer. I recieved a Denny,s bagged salad instead of the quality salad with all the toppings. No bread, not enough Ajus for the prime rib. Won't return until indoor...dining is back. Seems no pride when served to go???More

We tried this location after our last failed steak attempt at another location. What a great find! The service was excellent from the greeting at the door to table service! The food was AMAZING! Everything from starters to the main course, Flavourful and cooked just...right. I had the ribs, wow! Fall off the bone delicious! Hubby had the porterhouse selection, cooked right and seasoned as requested. If you’re wanting a nice evening out and a great steak for dinner, this is the place. You will not be disappointed. The restaurant was a zoo. Because of restaurant week even with reservations we were put in the bar with a small table for the 3 of us. Food was good, service was good. We had filet mignon and prime rib. I'll remember NOT to come...restuarant weekMore

We have always received a warm welcome and the rib-eye steak is always juice and tender. we had guest from England they had the steaks and whwn ever they call us they always mention the restaurant and the steak

Such a nice way to serve the house salad made at the table, loved it! We had Alaskan crab legs and the prime rib. Both perfect, huge and reasonably priced. Very happy with both food and lovely service, thank you!
