We ate at Venetos tonight and where very happy we did. The restaurant is on a busy street and does have patio seating, but happily we sat inside where it is quite charming. We enjoyed a reasonably priced and great Montepulciano red wine, assortment of house made Italian breads with olive oil/balsamic vinegar ( i could have stopped eating with the bread sooo good). My wife had the chicken marsala and i had the evening fish special of fresh sea bass over spinach and a lemon caper sauce. Both entrees were very comprised of fresh ingredients and delicious. We finished the meal with the Tiramisu. Venetos is an authentic Italian restaurant, owned and run by Pino who is a great host. We wish Venetos was in La Mesa so that we could go once a week, but will differently come back when we are in Oceanside.

We came in like a hurricane all 14, wait, 16, oh, 18 of us into this little mom and pop restaurant! I had called last minute and begged for a table while the man on the other line told me “ signoras, we are very busy, you must come now”. So we hustled the 16 year olds into the shower and all dashed so we could have a good meal! We arrived, our table for 14 (which is what we started with) was ready to go! Soon enough we became 16, two more chairs added, no prob! And then…18, sorry!! But 2 more chairs and we were good to go!!! The server who spoke in the perfect Italian accent told us what he would bring us “galamad (calamari) and garlic knots, red wine, white wine” it was exactly what we needed. Everyone ordered a full plate of pasta, pizza or chicken dish, portions big enough to fill up even our hungry HS lax boys. The food was great, the ambiance was perfect and the service was top notch! Thanks for taking us in, accommodating us and feeding our hungry bellies with yummy Italian food!!!

What a great find! This seems to be a hidden gem that locals eat at often. We stumbled upon it when looking downtown and not finding anything reasonably priced for a family dinner. We walked in and felt like we were in Italy again from the friendly staff many with Italian accents to the decor. The pasta was amazing and the sauces delicate and flavorful. And I loved that they haven’t gone the way of other California restaurants who are adding a 2-6% fee onto the bill, explaining it as a “kitchen adjustment” or “inflation charge” or some other nonsense. The high end places did this regularly out there even though their prices were already well above average. But this wonderful homey place where we had authentic Italian food had reasonable prices and no extra fee.

The food was pretty good, although a bit overpriced. My salmon and shrimp dish had only 2 pieces of shrimp, but the rest of the portions were good. We ate there on a late Sunday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded but the service was definitely lacking. The management/wait staff made my family feel uncomfortable to be there and I noticed they didn't behave the same way with other patrons. I still left a fair tip, even though I felt it wasn't warranted. I highly doubt I'd go back there, which is unfortunate because I was hoping to find a local Italian place for future outings.

This place was a gem of a find. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the ambiance-kind of traditional European vibe, music not too loud. We had a Bruschetta appetizer. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. I had lasagna and was quite satisfied. My wife had a salmon and shrimp dish and was very pleased. For dessert we shared a lava chocolate dish, with coffee, that took the whole experience to the next level! We would eagerly eat there again the next time we pass through Oceanside.

We ordered pizza for pick up from Venetos and it was a great experience. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The pizza was delicious. We had pepperoni with fresh mushrooms, sauce was great, oregano taste. Crust was crisp and chewy, just the way I like it. Perfectly browned too. Nice Italian decor in restaurant, I will go back and dine in once Covid is over. Easy parking in restaurant 's own lot.

Full of flavor! Best Italian I’ve had. Chicken Marsala was delicious. Pasta was fresh and expertly prepared. No fast food, no microwave, just great food you will definitely enjoy

We had ordered take out here during covid, this was our first time dining in. Everyone is very friendly, great service. The dining area is small with very cute Italian decor. Our pizza was delicious, but I will order it well done next time to get browning on the cheese (our last take out pizza was nice and browned) The entrees coming out of the kitchen looked very good. It was about a block and half from my hotel and a little walk but i made it walker and all. On a budget i had the Lasagna and it was the best Ive ever had. Really, so I assume the rest of menu the same. I was surprised at the menu pricing and the waitress was so nice. Being alone about 7 pm I took it to my room as it does have some odd folks around but no one bothered this 76 year old woman, everyone was very nice. I was amazed at this place, small and cozy. I think you will love it too

Authentic Italian food. We had Pizza and chicken marsala cooked in Wine and mushrooms. The owner was our server. Very attentive and we enjoyed speaking Italian with him. Walking distance to pier. The restaurant was clean and decorated like an Italian Villa.

Food was fantastic. The owner even came out to box up our leftovers. HE never introduced himself as the owner, but you could tell by the authority he carried. When we was leaving there was a cool article on the wall about the owner. Loved it!

We stopped to eat in Oceanside along our drive from LA to San Diego. Venetos Cucina was perfect. Our waiter was super friendly. The food came very quickly and was delicious. I’d definitely return!

We had a lovely dinner here. The atmosphere was great and the waiters friendly and helpful, mostly from the same family. The food was excellent and good portions, but not cheap. We thought the desserts too expensive so just had the one course, which was more than enough. Enjoy

At first glance, this is not a place you want to go to. Its tiny, its dark, and it has no AC. However! This is a place you want to visit. Its a small local business, and its great.
We went for a family dinner and enjoyed it quite a bit. We were served by Pino, who is the owner and he was very nice. Dinner was quite tasty, but I would not recommend the chicken parm.
I had the seafood linguini and loved it.

This is an amazing little restaurant! It was like being transported to someone's private villa in Italy. We were welcomed in like friends and served as such. Great service and authentic Italian food. No kids menu, but they were so kind to my girls. Highly recommend.
