There was a 2 inch piece of gray rubber in the ginger plate. The manager explained that it came off the tongs they use to plate up and took $9 off the bill. Makes me wonder about the rest of their hygiene.

Sushi was right at the top of "Best Ever" and I've eaten Sushi for many years. Our Sushi Chef Miguel was outstanding. Waitress service, not so much. Great place for sure.
I order a coke, get it in a glass that is smaller than other people’s soda glasses, and then never get a refill in my 68 or so minute stay. It’ll take about 38 minutes to get your appetizer, and 48 or so minutes to...get your main dishes. Pace yourself on your water glass too; we only got a single refill of water in our entire stay. Getting a check was a struggle too, as people managed to come in, eat, and leave while we were waiting and ultimately seen last. In my 5 or so years of coming here, it is disappointing to see whatever the management has made the establishment.More
Great place to enjoy sushi and a fantastic happy hour! We ordered the miso soup, nigiri happy hour plate, and two salmon avocado hand rolls. Everything was super fresh and delicious. Absolutely loved it! Forgot to take photos sadly.
Tried for the first time. Walked into a beautiful atmosphere, great menu, and smiling front desk to then be greeted by a server in daisy duke cut offs and a tube top 2 sizes too small. I'm not against casual style clothing, but it was...far below what I expected and tbh a complete hotmess look. Our food timing was not coordinated, it was almost 10 minutes between the first dish brought out until the last person's dish arrived. Having, myself, worked in industry for over 15 yrs I know there is no circumstance that allows excuse for such a difference in timing. If one dish is known to take a longer amount of time then others it is the kitchen's responsibility to time the rest of the food to come out with it. When we finished we requested boxes, they didn't come. Our desserts arrived and we ate them with our old food still sitting beside us. Prebussing apparently isn't a thing the staff is required to preform. We still tipped 20% bc we are industry people, but for the cost of the food and potential of the space I was beyond disappointed. Won't be back.More
Dinner for four on a Wednesday. Service and ambiance were very good. Inventive, maybe overly complex, rolls and very fresh, delicious nigiri. The rolls emphasize tempura, which isn’t my pref, but to reach his own. With a trip if you’re having a hankering for sushi,...especially if price is not a consideration.More
Food was good, but issues getting a mixed drink, it took forever, and then it wasn’t correctly made, twice. Felt rushed to order.
Went there for a late lunch after walking the pier. The waitress was personable and recommended two of our rolls. The rolls were wonderful, complex flavors, interesting combinations, and quality fish. We would definitely go again.
I went out of my way to eat at Harney Sushi, and I was disappointed based on its #5 ranking on Trip Advisor (as of March 2021). My wife and I looked at this place before traveling to San Diego, and we agreed that the...reviews looked positive and the prices reasonable. However, it was missing all of the elements of a top rated Trip Advisor restaurant. For a #5 ranking on Trip Advisor, I expect great prices, great quality, style, and flavor. The price and flavor were slightly above average, but the platting of the sushi lacked attention and originality. Additionally, the roles seemed to have a lot of rice and not that much fish. I have eaten at a lost of sushi restaurants and I can only give this one an average rating.More
Wow! We went off of trip advisor recommendation for this place during our quick visit to Oceanside and, once again, trip advisor recommendation didn't disappoint!!! We ordered a roll - katsu chicken entree - a bento box - and a strawberry hibiscus martini.....WOW! Everything was...delicious!!! This place was packed so go when you aren't in a hurry and can just enjoy the food, drinks and atmosphere.More
Large restaurant in a modern setting. They have got a good selection of rolls and nigiri/sashimi, as well as other entrees. Reasonable prices and tasty food.
Had an amazing selection on the Happy Hour menu and regular menu for a party of 4. We tried the hot and cold sake; both were good, not the cheap stuff but at a good price. The cold sake was infused with strawberry so it...was quite good. I also had a Sapporo because I actually enjoy beer more with sushi. We also had the Gyoza, mixed veggie tempura and a couple of roll samplers as an appetizer. For dinner we had the Culichi Wa Roll, Baked Dynamite Roll, Chuck Norris Roll, and Pirate Roll. That was about a roll too much, we had a few leftovers. Service was exceptional; Landon was our server and kept on top of everything. Cost was only around $100 for a very large and enjoyable meal.More
Mikey was the best sushi chef;. The Sea Bass Truffle.♥️♥️♥️♥️. Are it to quick to take a picture. A must try. Bottomless Bloody Mary's on Sundays.
Very good food, service, and atmosphere. As a first time sushi eater I don’t have anything to compare to but my son said it’s the best that he’s had in the two years since he left Okinawa.
The name doesn't sound like a name associated with "sushi." But Harney Sushi is a beautiful restaurant that is modern, yet with a touch of traditional Japanese flare in it's presentation and setting. (Harney is the street where the original Harney Sushi is located in...Old Town San Diego.) The food was absolutely fantastic and the food is presented in a beautiful way. The food was also very, very good. The serving size was nice and we had great service. Really enjoyable experience and highly recommended.More
