I hardly give bad reviews because I know everyone uses Trip advisor but here it goes.
First timer and understand business are struggling to stay up but also it means they'll give the best they can. My food today wasn't good at all and so...as my family members.
For an oyster bar this is probably one of the worst, oysters where small and hardly any inside the shell.. total rip off.
We ordered pasta and it was very watery and clams/mussels are old. Smelled like it was picked up from a dirty tank.
When I pass by the kitchen to use the bathroom, I've notice how dirty it is and messy. I ask notice the chefs giving food to their family members.
Overall, our server knew our party was big so it was instance service charge. We complained about our certain food and he didn't apologize and basically said so did you want something else. Also he sounded irritated at the time.More
Disappointed. The coconut shrimp was excellent but the other dishes were mediocre. The garlic cheese bread lacked flavor, just cheese on bread, not crispy or toasted at all. The Manhattan clam chowder lacked any clam flavor or spiciness. The bus boy/food deliverer was much more...attentive than our waiter, and when I told him that, he said he hears that all the time. I always judge a restaurant’s cleanliness on the bathrooms because that says a lot about their cleanliness standards, especially in the kitchen, and the bathrooms were dirty and unkept. Plus, in these days of the pandemic, they gave us old, sticky menus that I didn’t want to touch (used hand sanitizer afterwards) but we later noticed that there was one, just one, poster with a bar code that you could scan to see the menu on your phone but they never told us that. We barely touched the sticky old menus and washed our hands in the unclean bathrooms afterwards. Ughh.More
Father's Day lunch and not to our satisfaction. We were in line next door at Baja lobster and left because we had heard lighthouse was great. Aside from our view of the harbor, the food took so so long to come out and lacking in...taste and seasoning along with high priced small portions. I wish we had read the reviews prior to our visit as another reviewer was spot on with our disappointing experience. We probably spent 2 hours here waiting on food to arrive, ordering almost as soon as we sat down. Ordered apps/sons food same time, sons food out 20 min later and cold. Not overcrowded either. Add on scallops $9 for 2! We won't be returning- view or no view. 2 stars for the view. And we tipped generously but this trend of bad food/service and then leaving a good tip is ending for us. Also beware that it is beer and wine only- cocktails have no liquor and are outrageously priced.More
We were visiting in Oceanside at lunch time and wanted to eat near the water. This place was open and not crowded. I ordered some fried oysters and they were great. The service was also good so this was a good place for lunch.
So impressed with customer service! Great food, well prepared and a stunning view of the harbour. Went early around 4:00 for happy hour and an early dinner. Place got busier by 6:00.
Would not hesitate to visit again and hopefully we will again some day!...From Canada a big thanks!More
Ordered, 2 Margaritas listed as COCKTAILS, should have been listed as MOCKTAILS , no alcohol present, not informed either on the menu or by waiter of this fact at $9 each. Enquiry with Manager, only licensed to serve Wine or Beer.Margaritas were like cheap cordial.Main...meal, we shared a Seafood steamed Combo, was ok, not large serving or what would have expected for $27.99 (1 small Crab claw, 2 mussels, 6 small shrimp & 6 small clams) not overcooked, absolutely disappointing. Next main, Halibut Fish, cooked blackened to order, very small, way over cooked with grilled vegetables. Received 2 slices green zucchini, 2 slices yellow zucchini, with small scoop of mashed potato $29.95.
THE WORST PART, ordered side dish on Menu of Scallops $8.95 as an add on to fish dish, a complete RIP OFF got 2 scallops for this price & asked Manager for clarification. She actually said there was a mistake, clearly said there should have been more..& she would ask the Chef...came back to us with Scallops are expensive and that is what you get....again not listed on the menu what portion serving size you get ,nor by our waiter, can’t believe 2 scallops anywhere are $8.95
SCAM Restaurant, cant believe after talking with the Manager re portion size etc, she didn’t give a damn or couldn’t have CARED LESS.....WOW A GREAT WAY TO DO BUSINESS....
Happy to pay for good service and in the USA it is compulsory, it is in my opinion, you are tipping for a service and this restaurant does NOT DELIVERMore
We parked in the free 2 hour parking and had a beer and fish tacos at the Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill. The tacos were some of the best we had on our trip. The view from the second floor bar and stool eating area...is great.More
