About
As a young boy, Tore Trupiano grew up in Monroe, MI, just south of Detroit the son of Italian immigrant parents. One of his fondest memories was the sights and smells of his mother and grandmother making fresh bread. Like most Italian immigrants, Tore's grandmother and mother made their own bread for the family dinner table. Tore never lost sight of family traditions. He learned to always use the best and freshest ingredients. This same passion serves as the foundation and guiding mission of Mangia e Bevi today. It is our goal to produce food of exceptional quality using only the best and freshest ingredients. Mangia e Bevi sources almost exclusively from local farmers, producers and brewers. We proudly serve locally grown, hand-crafted products and only the freshest available.

Located in the techy/industrial/business park section of this city it is cozy, meaning small but well appointed and comfortable. My motto is "start basic"
So we both ordered the Pasta Alla Norma, a simple but 5 star dish of perfectly cooked rigatoni in a rich and not overly seasoned tomato sauce worthy of the finest restaurants, and the finest Nonnas.. The eggplant in the sauce is bite sized and the portion is generous but sensible.
Please order the house salad,,,,,,,the dressing is theirs and is a perfect complement to a dish made famous by the composer Bellini in the city of Messina.
Wine selection is quite adequate. Prices are fair.

This was a great find we tried because of a Groupon. Our waitress was amazing handling lots of diners with ease and giving all of us the perfect amount of attention. Once she told us about the owner being part of pizza championships, we had to go that route and we were not disappointed. Great crust, sauce and toppings. He came out later and we got to talk to him about our long held belief that the reason we can’t usually get good pizza out west compared to what we grew up with in NY and NJ, is because of the different water. He debunked that and was very knowledgeable about the whole process. We ate on their very pretty patio and got to enjoy the live music coming out of the restaurant across the way as we dined.

Food was good (Gnocchi). Complimentary bread not included with a nearly $20 item. Disappointed. None of the staff wore masks, inside or out. In today’s Covid world, not a good idea. Moderately expensive. Replaced one of my favorite Italian restaurants, Rosina’s, a few years ago. Will keep looking. Staff was polite.
All together good but not sensational.

Visited with friends and every enjoyed their meal. Pizza is particularly good, they have the pizza ovens to make the crust amazing and good quality products used to compliment the crust. Would go back

The best local Italian food in the area! I grew up in an Italian family where we had RestIrant quality dishes. I have been to Italy many times and have not found anything locally to compare with “real” Italian dishes. Our party of three each selected different dishes and all were outstanding. Definitely worthy of a return visit.

Best Italian cuisine ever, I eat at Mangi e Bevi often and would probably eat there daily if I could afford to. Tore is a great owner and chef and his service is beyond excellent. The Venison is my absolute favorite, I have eaten a lot of it over the years being with a Native American man for 6 years and freshly caught, Mangi is better. I am Gluten intolerant but don't seem to have problem with Tore's bread and pasta due to the high quality semolina from Italy. Can't get much better and don't forget to try the Tiramisu or Creme Brulee. The pizza is to die for as well! YUM YUM!

This is our date night as well as our favorite great pizza spot. We go probably once a month to Mangia, and are never disappointed. Their menu is big enough for us to never get bored. We love the buratta and get it every time. My wife and I definitely recommend this place. The staff are always friendly and the owner is often there making pizza in the big oven up front. We love sitting on the patio next to the fountain.

I just returned from Sicily and was invited out by foodie friends who had dined here a few weeks earlier. I wasn't expecting a lot. After all, its obscure location in the middle of no where wasn't too compelling. Was I ever WRONG.
First, let me say that our server, Kari, was absolutely top notch. Nothing was impossible for her at our table that had several special requests.
The star of the show was the wild-boar pasta (my husband and I have been wild boar hunting in ITALY twice!). Their pizza was also notable...great crust and just the right amount of quality cheese & topping).
The owner tops it all off by his warm welcome and banter.
OVERALL, this is a slice of Sicilian paradiso.

We've come here many times over the years. The food is always outstanding. Prices are above average but in-line with the level of cookery that's employed. I mean, the food tastes and LOOKS great. They have a $40 Groupon too if you want to curb the cost just a bit. Service has always been good. Ample parking. Their family owns a couple of other well-known restaurants and I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Worth it.

We know Italian food. My wife is fluent. My son in law is from Bergamo and I grew up in Philly. We had a perfect night out with pizza and bruschetta appetizers, clam linguine and tortellini among others in our party. The sauces were so flavorful. Visiting as a family from out of town, we all walked away surprised what an incredible meal this was - truly memorable. When we pulled up in a strip mall, our foodie companions were skeptical (I found these guys in Groupon) but I was the hero when we went back to the hotel. Great family vibe, multiple generations of Italian restaurants. I wish we lived nearby!

Our first time at this restaurent was a great success. The food was delicious and the service was great. We shared a small pizza for an appetizer and it was one of the best we've had since moving here from the east coast! We each got a different pasta dish and they were all very fresh and flavorful. We plan to go again soon and hope to have the same wonderful experience!

Fantastic authentic Italian in a strip-mall! We met local friends here for dinner at their suggestion and I’m glad of it. Food and service was spot on. The Chef/owner made a point to visit every table. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner

The hotel where we were staying recommended this restaurant. It was solid advice!
We were the only people there on a Sunday afternoon, which still puzzles me, We ordered a pizza. It was fresh and flavorful, the service impeccable. I would definitely go back to try something else.

Found this authentic Italian restaurant near my hotel by chance. The pizza was some of the best I have ever had. Reminded me of pizza I had in Italy. Ended my meal with an amazing tiramisu.
Our waitress was very attentive. The owner also came over to check on us. We will be back.

Lovely people in an unlikely spot in town surrounded by large tech company industries. But they have made the most of their location and when living in the time of CoVid. Indoors Outdoors Patios all around. Eat in Take Out. Awesome Try the Caprese and the Calamari. That was my choice today.
