We are a family owned restaurant and we are pleased to have some of the best food in San Diego, we are extremely helpful as well as prompt to make your dining experience special. At Swami’s Cafe, we combine a unique menu, a great atmosphere and a friendly staff that create an excellent dining experience.

Visiting California on a recent excursion, I found myself with my teenage daughter, driving through Oceanside in search of a good meal. My kiddo is vegetarian, so I needed a place that would serve her dietary desires. A quick search using my Trip Advisor app led us to Swami’s Café in downtown.
Swami’s has a good size interior with brick walls and lots of wood, for a comfy, inviting feeling. The garage door- style openings provide a non- assuming, non- pretentious, informal dining atmosphere. There is outdoor seating, too, and given that this is southern California, you might prefer to choose an outdoor seat where you can enjoy the fresh air and people- watch while you dine.
Swami’s is a breakfast/brunch/lunch type of establishment. They serve a wide assortment of breakfast options. Omelets are one of my favorite breakfast foods and Swami’s has a good assortment of omelets from which to choose. Outside of that, they have pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast burritos, and more. On the lunch menu, you will find soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and a menu section called Swami’s favorites, loaded with unique options such as spinach tofu, mole enchiladas, veggie quesadilla, and more. There is no dinner served here and they close at 3pm.
Swami’s serves juices and smoothies, so it’s a good choice for those who want healthier beverage alternatives. They have a handful of craft beers on tap, too, for people like me, which is always a plus. Seating includes high and low tables.
I like how the menu at Sami’s has a distinct number next to each food item on the blackboard, from which you place your order. This makes it easy to make sure there is no miscommunication- just tell them the number of the item you want. You order first, and then seat yourself wherever you like. They will bring the food to you when it’s ready.
Swami’s serves tasty American food and my vegetarian teenager and I were both more than satisfied with the quality of the meals, the service, and the atmosphere. It’s a great option for plant lovers and carnivores alike, as they serve something for everyone. We loved the experience and recommend it to anyone visiting Oceanside who wants a satisfying breakfast or lunch.

Love this place! The menu is eclectic and also diverse for breakfast and lunch. I always get the mole enchiladas because they are scrumptious, but my hubby has had many good sandwiches, fries are great.

Loved the decor and atmosphere... big open windows to let in the light and fresh air.
I had the "California burrito" which I was told was a best seller... kinda bland. It was supposed to have ham in it, but I couldn't find it, but it was loaded with potatoes. Not much flavor. And it came with a side. I ordered the potatoes as a side, but I shouldn't have. Way too much potatoes. The wheat tortilla was hard and flavorless. They did put some avocado in it which was nice, but I would not order this again. No taste to it.
My friends loved what they ordered and would come here again... I don't know if I would.

I have to say this place was quite cool to the eye. After looking at pictures I'd imagine that the food would be outrageously good. The menu also keeps you on your toes. We my experience was not that at all. I ordered pineapple upside down pancakes and made it a combo. My pancakes were dry and didn't look as good as the pictures did. The food was ok and the service was really good. I'm starting to see that pictures mean nothing in this region of the country. If you want flavored pancakes just go to IHOP. You can get your fix there.

Little bit of a wait but worth it. Wonderful healthy selection. Fresh fruit. Service was on point. Atmosphere was casual but quaint.

The spinach omelette and the steak with eggs are SUPERB! My first time here through Uber Eats and I’m VERY MUCH IMPRESSED 👍👏. This is my new favorite cafe now in Oceanside. I FINALLY found one! I think I was being offered 2 orange juice for free but I said no to it because I thought he was asking if I ordered them. I should have asked are you offering these to me for free and I would have accepted them wholeheartedly 😇

We eat here several times a month and the food is always good. This is not a fast food resturant so don't go if you are in a hurry, especially during busy hours. The food is fresh and the wait is worth it. They have gluten free pancakes which I order frequently. We also enjoy their Tropical Salad and add Ahi Tuna. There Is a coffee bar with multiple coffee choices and they offer water with fruit. The artsy decor and historical building add to the experience.

I usually go to Swami's in Carlsbad, CA and have always had good meals there, but my friend wanted to go to the Oceanside location.
We ordered our meals (I had a chicken wrap and my friend had a tofu stir fry...they ran between $14-15 each) and went to sit at a table near the window. The table was sticky (it hadn't been properly cleaned), as were the next 3 tables we tried. I told the cashier, who said she would have it taken care of. Didn't happen. My friend went over and made the same request, and finally a guy came over to wipe down the table. She made sure to mention that the rest of the tables in the vicinity needed cleaning, too. He reluctantly wiped them off, using the same cloth he had used on our first table.
When the food came, it was half and half. My food would have been rated a 3+ and my friends a 1.
The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than paying attention to the customers (one of the male workers was kissing one of the females who worked there.....really? They're suppose to be running a business....totally unprofessional).
Definitely don't plan on going back to the Oceanside location.

I've been to three different Swami's locations and they are all a safe haven for me. I can find something delicious to eat no matter what time of day. Whomever I am with can also find good food, too. That's important. They make a great smoothie, too! I stop here at least once every time I'm in town. It's a casual atmosphere and it's open to the weather, but here in Oceanside that's a good thing.

I've been to Swamis in Vista, Escondido and Oceanside, and Oceanside is my favorite so far. I love getting the gluten free pancakes, and love the comfortable atmosphere and being near the ocean.

This has become one of our favorite date spots for breakfast. Can’t go wrong with the abc omelet the potatoes and croissant
Coffee bar with several to choose from, pour your own cup several choices for creamers soy milk almond milk etc. Very friendly service each time we go. Food fresh and excellent

We stopped at Swamis for a late lunch and it was fantastic!!! We had the Tropical Salad with grilled chicken and a super yummy smoothie as well. The salad was gorgeous and delicious! The service was great, too. We sat outside on the patio on a beautiful Sunday So Cal day and it could not have been better. We will definitely be back!

Liked this place. There were 3 of us and we could each order a different dish and we still could come back another day and try some other things. For the location in a touristy place, it was a very reasonably priced place. Food didn't take too long and we liked the food.
