Really enjoyed this diner! The food was awesome and the atmosphere was really amazing. They have decorated it wonderfully. Service was exceptional! Road our bikes there from Pacific Dunes Ranch RV Park. Had breakfast and then road on the beach. Loved this place so much...we came back the next day for lunch!More

We are a family from the UK with 2 teenagers on a California road trip. We found the Rock n Roll diner and we absolutely loved the whole experience. Food was fantastic with a really varied choice which includes some Greek dishes which I suspect...are fairly rare to find in the USA. The staff were amazing, they were so lovely and made us feel so welcome. Particularly the nice lady originally from Croatia, she was an absolute diamond. We did breakfast and dinner at the diner over a couple of days (we would have gone more but we only had 2 nights in Oceana). For any railway/railroad enthusiasts like myself you will definitely be impressed by the 2 ex Railroad dining cars which form the main part of the diner. The cars were built around the late 1940s and had regular use on cross American railroad services until they were purchased in 1978 to form the original diner. I have included a photo of the history synopsis, take a read and enjoy the historical value of this place as well as the great food/serviceMore

Local residents, first time trying for breakfast. Bright shiny red booths in the old train car, 50s/60s rock and roll hits blaring from a juke box. Presentation of breakfasts was excellent and egg dishes fine, fruit side was the issue. Berries, melons and oops the...watermelon spoiled and ruining the dish. Then noticed a couple in the next booth sit down with a puppy under the lady's coat. What! Waitress noticed it and we heard her say if she had noticed the dog would have not been allowed, though if it is on a leash, it could sit on the floor. So they got a leash and that lasted a minute until the dog was back on the lap and their table. So that leads me to wonder if they are not checking for spoiled fruit and ignore health standards to have dogs outside only, what else is going on? This is one train we won't ride again.More

We always have fun visiting the rock ‘n’ roll diner. We started a little local YouTube channel. You’re mentioned in the Oceano episode. Check out “Livin Curiously” on YouTube . Keep up the good work sharing fun and food.

We live in the area and I often ride my bike past this place (since they repaved the street). We thought we would check it out on the first day of spring. My wife got a chicken Souvlaki pita wrap and I stayed a little...closer to classic diner fare - a BLT + onion rings. She reported that the wrap was a little bland. The BLT & rings were exactly what you would expect. Moderate prices, quick service, fun setting in a classic California beach town. What's not to like?More

My family and I usually eat inside and enjoy the ambience of this quaint little diner. But, since the whole covid thing we had to order our dinner for takeout. It was my wife's birthday and she wanted greek food. When I called to place...the order I jokingly asked them to add a lot of love because it was her birthday. All I can say is that the Lamb shank was delicious, the Kota Souvlaki was tender and everything else was made perfectly. They even included an ice cream treat for her birthday. We are looking forward to when we can dine inside again. This place is really a landmark in our area. God bless the owners and all the employees who work so hard to keep this place alive.More

This sandwich was horrible. I ask for a roll not rye bread and of course I got rye bread. Why bother to ask the customer. Also it was so greasy I had to throw the entire thing away. I would have been better if I...ordered at Burger King.More

I ordered take out-mousakka-most of the plate was filler food, salad & rice! The moussaka was a mere 1/4 of the plate-for $17.95? Shameful. It did not even taste very good. A rip-off, I'd never return.

Traveled to Oceano to get out of town for a bit. Rock & Roll Diner is about two blocks from the Oceano airport and we had a nice walk past what is clearly a new park to the restaurant. Main seating area is two railroad...cars (closed due to COVID on our visit) with a covered patio in back. I ordered the Black Angus Burger and my Girlfriend orders the 57 Philly steak. Both items were cooked to perfection and super tasty. We also had onion rings, which were the best we have had in some time. Service was relaxed and prompt. This is a central coast beach community not LA so don't be in a rush or expect to be rushed. Overall a nice comfortable place.More

A restaurant made out of a couple of old railroad cars can't be bad. Inside is comfortable and fun. Staff are friendly and service is good. Food menu as you would think - all your diner favourites. Breakfast burrito with chorizo is pretty tasty and...is nice with a strawberry milkshake!More

The diner is in 2 train cars. We expected average food and thought the draw was the novelty. We were pleasantly surprised. I love crab cakes and am always skeptical of California crab cakes (I am from MD where crab cakes are exceptional). The crab...cakes were quite tasty and broiled to perfection. The crab bisque was excellent. The steamed veggies were perfectly steam and without any spices or sauce absolutely perfect for my taste. It is a fun atmosphere and the service was very good.More

It's been a few weeks since my last visit to R&R Diner. My son and I both ordered the prime rib medium and it came well done. We were both very hungry and just ate as much as possible. They were both very well done...and very tough. Mentioned this to both of the servers and the last one said the next time would be better. Kind of a strange reply and I'm not sure I will return. A discount on the $50 check or even a voucher toward a future visit would have been appropriate.More

Just arriving at the site tells you you are in for a good time. The music, 50's and 60's, sets a party mood. Had the Buffalo Wings and a burger and was very pleased. Several other items on the menu sounded good. Nice selection of...beers available.More
