My co-worker came in to help me and told me of this deli close to our job site. Very difficult to find parking around the lunch hour, so beware! Once we were in, I was quite impressed with all the deli items and how efficiently everyone behind the counter worked to construct our sandwiches.

A real deli....all the good smells, all the real good food. You must have their meat ravioli. Simply the best. Yes their sandwiches are very good, their staff is the best, but get the meat ravioli, with their sauce. Heaven.

No fewer than 5 people in one day told us to have lunch here. It's an Italian market with deli, mostly cold sandwiches, but also hot to go food. We were instructed to have the salami sandwich or raviolis. We had raviolis, meatballs and eggplant Parmesan. The meatballs and sauce were OK, but we have very little good to say... More

It is really hard to park here because this place is so good (yeah, there is a chain pizza joint), but this deli is an institution in the Temescal, Rockridge area. Great sandwiches, great take out deli items -- salads, olives, cheeses, cold cuts. I like buying the frozen ravioli some time, and for X-mas, there is panne tortore --... More

Great sandwiches, prepared food, and service. Salad bar is great, but can get expensive. You make your salad, they weigh it, then you pay. Be careful, this can get expensive.

It hard to find a place like this any more - a real Italian deli with a broad selection of excellent Italian food. The sandwiches are great with many choices of breads, fillings, and condiments. Rather than choosing one of their their per-chosen menu selections I recommend you branch out and create a selection of your own. There is lots... More

Busy, busy! Expect long lines but so worth the wait! Too hectic for eating in though... Just make a real deal: get your sandwich for lunch and buy deli meats and fried artichoke balls, salads, bread and frozen ravioli to get you through the week. A tad expensive, but genuine and fresh. Just do it!

The guys (and they're all guys) that work at the sandwich counter are efficient, gracious, funny. And the dry goods selection is pretty broad. Bufala, basil, and tomatoes on Dutch crunch, with a take home of ravioli. What more could you want?

Go on a weekend and prepare for lines...but wow... my turkey sandwich order: (genova's roast turkey, as they have many others) sourdough roll all kinds of mustard (i think they have 3, Dijon x2, honey...sometimes they get annoyed at this....haha) mayo onion tomato lettuce pepperonis be prepared to be blown away...i have never had a deli sandwich like this anywhere...

Their deli is a visual delight and the sandwiches well worth the wait. But just to have this well stocked deli in the city is my idea of heaven.
