We found Wood Tavern from Trip Advisor and since we were in the area decided to pop in. It was around 4:30 on a Fri. The host said he could seat us but the table was reserved at 5:45. We ordered our meal, which was well prepared and tasty. The server was engaging as well. We quickly ate as we... More

I like the restaurant the food is good in this near my house. But you'll need a reservation most of the time and I never feel like making one there.

Wood Tavern has never disappointed but we know to call way ahead to reserve and we expect the bill to be on the high side. Not so for lunch though. Our daughter says it has the best hamburger in the East Bay for a price similar to other nice restaurants in the area. The meat entrées are always good and... More

Make sure you make reservations otherwise not sure you will get in or you might have a long wait. But it is worth it. Haven't had any thing bad, food and service are both excellent. One draw back is the parking; you might have to go around the block a few times.

On our visit to drop off our daughter at school we decided to try Wood Tavern for dinner. We had no reservation, the place was packed but well worth the wait. Staff was attentive, food was great, and ambience very nice. A must try.

Wood Tavern has been the "FAVORITE" restaurant of many of the residents and visitors to the Rockridge Area. The reliably excellent food, friendly staff and warm and inviting ambience has made this restaurant our family's favorite "GO TO Place for Celebrating Birthdays and other Special Occasions".

Very good local tavern. Great food loved the scallops. Friendly service and busy atmosphere. Yummy desserts too at reasonable prices. Would go back.

Its name descibes what the place looks like. We had a nice welcome and sat at a round spacious wood table. Steak was juicy and tender; scallops sweet and well-cooked, fries very good. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere

Came here with a friend and we had to wait 30 minutes for seats at the bar, but we did something else and they called when ready. In fact, they told us 40 minutes. We were hungry but not super hungry. We had the pate and the duck rillettes. I had the shrimp cocktail, which was more like a salad.... More

Favorite restaurant in the East Bay - book weeks in advance because it is always packed. If you can wait then a seat at the Bar is also fab.
