About
We are a fast casual eatery with counter service and a full bar, serving exceptional sustainable seafood boils, create-your-own poke bar and one-of-a-kind oyster bar. Order and pay at the counter, grab a table and dig in! History: alaMar is a chef-driven eatery that started as a full service restaurant in 2014. alaMar became best known for Chef Nelson's Braised Angus Oxtail dish and the Peel n Eat Gulf Shrimp submerged in his signature romesco sauce. Today, to better suit our guests' needs, we transformed into a quick service eatery serving the same delicious signature dishes that alaMar became synonymous with. Within our first 2 years, we were rated Michelin Recommended. In 2016, alaMar was

We all had seafood boils; buckets of yummy shellfish and corn on the cob. Lots of paper towels to help soak up the juices. Great music, tables outside as well.

We stopped here to watch the game. Excellent nachos fries and chicken wings as finger foods. The boils are amazing. The Steph Curry sauce is a must try. We has mild sauce but it had great flavors without the heat. Love that you can place...More

We arrived with no reservation, were seated and served quickly. The service is personal and attentive which is appreciated. The food is served promptly and it is delicious. Our group of 7 including a toddler were very well taken care of.

Beautiful chalk art of Steph, Draymond and Clay over the bar welcomes you! Chef and owner German Nelson, handsome and talented, is crafting culinary art in his kitchen. All sorts of Dub yummy awaits, gotta try several! Seafood etc with an Oakland creole/Cajun accent.

Very good food. But the restaurant is noisy, very noisy. Service and table condition are quite rude.

The Afro-Latino seafood restaurant is the love child of Executive Chef Nelson German. His menu features signature dishes such as the peel ‘n’ eat shrimp drowned in romesco sauce and the Braised Angus Oxtail derived from his mother’s recipe. The ever changing menu, reflecting locally-sourced...More

Before attending the Warriors-Pelicans playoff game, we visited this corner-located building featuring bright bay windows that opens up the dining area. Intelligent, educated bartender provided enjoyable conversation while we were seated at the bar. Tator tots, $9.00, a generous platter unlike the frozen variety to...More

Met my daughter here for lunch not really knowing what to expect. Ordered the Dominican Bowl with oxtails, beans, rice and plantains. Gloriously delicious. Perfectly seasoned and tender oxtails with not a lot of fat. The beans were a perfect accompaniment and full of flavor...More
