He actually picked up an order I called in. He had Mongolian Beef lunch and I had Szechwan Prawns. We both had fried rice as a side dish. Everything tasted delicious, even the rice! The food was abundant. My prawns were lightly coated and crisped...up then covered with a scrumptious savory sauce. His Mongolian beef was flavorful and not too spicy. The side order of eggrolls fulfilled my dreams. We will be back soon!More
I came in for takeout and they were just so pleasant. I seated myself at an empty table and they brought me a pot of tea and Chinese teacup! When have I last had this? The food was done in 10 minutes, reasonable for 3...dishes, chicken noodles, bbq pork fried rice and braised bean curd. These were brought out in a sturdy carton. And when I said I was not eating this at home, they gave me 3 plates and forks.....and repacked the complimentary soup, siwss chard clear soup into 3 separate plastic covered bowls. I asked for chilli hot oil and they even provided the toothpicks. When we shared it, the noodles were smooth and still firm. I loved the fried rice and braised bean curd- which came with bak choy and mushrooms and not "fillers'. Generous portions, friendly great service and tasty food! This cost as much as hamburgers, fsh and chips and fries at smokehouse! We'll be back!More
My family had dinner at the Flower Lounge during our vacation. The food is delicious and there are many choices. The portions are large and one item can be split for two people. When we visit Oakland again we will definitely return to Flower Lounge.
This is not a fancy restaurant however, both the service and food are excellent. The simplicity of this restaurant reminds me of the 1950´s with personal service by two Chinese women complete with accents. The food is always well prepared and tasty. There is always...a bit more to eat than is necessary however, it is so delicious that I eat every bite. They do a big lunch and carry out business as well as table seating. Whenever I visit Oakland, from Guadalajara, where I live, I always make Flower Lounge a must stop.More

When our grandson suggested Chinese takeout, we looked for a restaurant in our neighborhood to go to. The Flower Lounge has the full range of Mandarin and Cantonese favorites, all very reasonably priced and all very large servings. The Beef Chow Fun was a new...dish to me, requested by my daughter, that we will order again and again - great tasting noodle and beef mixture (Order 'dry', no need for gravy). The Moo Shu Pork was really tasty as were the Pot Stickers. The fried chicken dishes were okay but we might look for some others. The Shrimp Fried Rice was fantastic. There was more than enough food for the six of us for dinner, with the reheated leftovers served for lunch the next day! We will return!!More
Needed to find a Chinese restaurant that was convenient for take out after work, but was not to pricey or poor quality. This is a very Traditional Cantonese Restaurant, so the basics like Chow Mein, Chow Fun Sweet & Sour Pork are great. I have...tried several entrees - love the Black Mushroom Chicken, Mu Shu Pork, Egg Foo Young. They are very careful about packing your order in a box so nothing spills.More
This is a basic neighborhood restaurant that serves great cantonese style chinese food. Not fancy, but reasonably priced & good quality. Great friendly service, but sometimes they get crowded & are understaffed. Good place to have lunch or dinner in the Dimond district.
May is the most outgoing and joyful restaurant owner and makes every visit a joy. The food is great and I've never found a better Chinese restaurant. I'm not Chinese so take that into consideration. I ordered take out of sizzling rice soup, seafood with eggplant in garlic sauce clay pot, salt and pepper squid, and Hong Kong style chow mein. All were good, hot and tasty. I will have to try eating there next time.
I'very been to this restaurant many times and it is always good. My favorite dishes are the lettuce wrap minced quail, house special fried rice, king do spareribs and salt and pepper fish. I can bring wine and no corkage fee. Service is usually fast...and very friendly.More
Dim sum not bad, but I've had dim sum in Vancouver, BC and it's way better. Good to visit if you're in the San Francisco area.
Yes, we prepared badly for Christmas dinner on the 25th. Didn't want fast food, and they were open. Took a loooong time to get the food, but it was all great! Will definitely try them again when we come thru. Singapore chow mein, and wonton...soup... Get it!More
