I am not one to consider service too much. But, it was non existent!!! The restaurant was only half full. This was observed happening to all the tables around us. Ladies chatting behind the tea counter to the other staff member. Had to wait, ask, wait, ask again, wait again -- for the very basics. Water, Ethiopian tea, napkins, a... More

The place is lively, clean and inviting. The service was absent. We were crammed into a tiny table almost touching the other tiny tables on either side. There's plenty of space in this place yet they cram the little tables so close together you can see and hear all your neighbors. It's like dining in a cattle car. We were... More

I really enjoyed this place. I used to live in Boston where there are many great Ethiopian places to eat. I visited Berkeley and came here w friends and family who highly recommended this place. I can't compare to the area but this place was fantastic!! The injera was nice and light. The hummus wonderfully creamy and light. And then... More

We were in Oakland again, so I had to get my Ethiopian fix. Since several years ago I had such a great experience here, I wanted to return. Our local family had been coming back here, now in a new and bigger location. I was excited. The place was not very busy for a Saturday evening and we quickly got... More

We love to try food from every country we possibly can. A friend said this Ethiopian restaurant served delicious food. It was about a 40 min wait and it was very difficult to find parking but worth it. We had some type of variety plate and honey wine. It was all wonderful. We plan to go back.

I have never had ethiopian food before, but I really enjoyed the items I tasted at Enssaro. We started with their housemade Sambosas. They come in a platter of four vegetarian (red lentils) or meat (minced beef). There were only two of us (one vegetarian and one meat-eater) and the restaurant allowed us to have a mix of both. We... My first try of Ethiopian food and it was such a beautiful experience. Very similar to indian food with their pulses and veggies and the injera which was similar to the south indian food dosa so it was easy for me to fall in love. I am a foodie and have just moved from 5 years living in India so... More

We're tried a dozen different Ethiopian restaurants, but this is the best Wot. We get the red lentils wot, Messer, and the lamb wot, Ye Beg. Wot must mean stew or wet, but we don't like kabob, so I have no idea how theirs is. We also like the Sambusa, both meat and vegi ones. The owners and most servers... More

Very good quality Ethopian food. Tasty, a good balance of spicy and not, and good honey wine. If the weather is cooperative, sit on the front patio/outside seating.

We came here because we had enjoyed a meal at their former location across the street. This location is much more spacious, but also noisier. It's a big open space that echoes the sound of voices and chairs that screech on the cement floors. The front pation on the street is better, but space limited. We all enjoyed the food.... More
