LOVED this place. Yes, it is pricey, but my experience with Peruvian restaurants in the states is that authentic Peruvian food always costs a bit more and is much better than the cheaper options. I got the Lomo o Pollo Saltado and a side of fried plantains and it was exactly just like a meal I had in Cusco this... More

We eat at La Furia Chalaca whenever our friends from Peru visit. Delicious fresh ingredients. We like remembering our happy times in Lima and Cusco. Very authentic cuisine.

We love Peruvian food and try as many Peruvian restaurants as we can, since they are not very common. We loved the Pisco Sours, a must with any Peruvian meal. The ceviche was good as was the pollo a la parrilla and the empanada. Our only complaint was that the service was slow.

First timers to the Oakland area, my husband and I wanted to make the most of the different ethnic restaurants in the vicinity of our hotel. We chose this Peruvian eatery since the online website had decent prices and an exotic sounding menu... I ordered the Jalea Especial, advertised for $20 on the web. It actually cost us $28. The... I was disappointed. My guest was not. Except the Pisco Sour the rest of what I had was average. I took no memories out of the restaurant. The wait staff was a bit too present. Several came to our table for orders either already requested, to be waited for so we could talk, or already taken by another. There is... More

You walk into a spacious, yet intimate surroundings. The staff provides a warm greeting. While the menu is simple, the servings are hearty. The cuisine is more Lima/coastal style, so you can enjoy a well blended vegetable, potato and meat. The night we visited, they had live music. Oh -- their entrance is now on 3rd.

We took our children (5, 9 & 12) here and we all loved the food. Our server was helpful, fun and prompt. We're going back soon, and can't wait to see what's next.

Pleasant, family owned restaurant. Well located, with on street parking available on this holiday evening. Missed having a pisco sour - they didn't have available. Both of us ordered Arroz con Marisco ($17.99 - Peruvian style paella-fresh shellfish in a pimiento and green pea studded saffron rice). Flavorful and good. Lots of shrimp and one mussel. Otherwise no variety of... More
