This Zachary's Pizza has a really nice atmosphere as well as the staff are very friendly. They always interact with the young kids and make them feel involved. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. The food is also very good, the pizzas come to...the table piping hot and have the cheesy-gooey taste that is the signature of Chicago style pizzas. It seems as though the prices go up every few months at our local pizza place. Still ther quality and ease attracts me. Very basic service. Take out for us.
We keep coming back to this neighborhood pizza parlor because we have enjoyed so many great pies before. Now the quality is just so-so and the service is dreary. This is the closest thing to authentic Chicago deep-dish pizza that you'll find in the SF Bay Area. The Chicago Fire chain in and around Sacramento is THE authentic thing in Northern CA, but if you can't get there, Zachary's is certainly better than "good...enough" to satisfy your craving for Chicago deep-dish. Skip all the Californicated options (butternut squash, Mediterranean, chorizo, etc.) and get the Zachary's Special; it will be the most Chicago of the choices. A small stuffed is more than enough for 2 people. We got that plus a single garden salad to share, for a total of $35, and we were happy for dinner and lunch the next day. Good value when you figure 2 meals for 2 people. If you're from Chicago and need a fix of something close to Giordano's, Geno's, Aurelio's, etc., then hit up Zachary's.More
We've been coming here for maybe 20 years and it is really going downhill. Tonight they gave me someone else's pizza and I did not discover the mistake until I got home and started to eat. I guess another customer is disappointed as well. I...called to let them know and they offered 50% off on another pizza. What? Prices have gone up about 60 to 70% in 10 years and the toppings are disappearing. Lots of competition out there so they better get it together.More
This has to be the worse pizza I have ever had. The pizza sauce ranges from bland to sour. I had two pieces and threw the rest in the garbage. It’s the first time I’ve ever been to Zachary’s. I was expecting something better but,...it truly is some really bad pizza.More
Combination deep dish pizza from Zachary not good at all waste of money I was very Disappointed. Will not return . the pizza was heavy like a brick too much sauce it was very gross
Paid 80 dollars for 2 pizzas and tipped 30%. I then asked the guy for ranch and he proceeded to tell me they charge extra for ranch. I mean come on man...
You really have to like tomatoes and tomato sauce to enjoy Zachary’s. Sure, it’s an institution, but there’s better places in town. Good crust through on thin style.
We are here every week for slices for lunch, but sometimes we come here to eat in. And it's our favorite place for take out pizza. The stuffed pizza is their great feature. Some staff are great and friendly, others not so much.
Just 2 blocks from my house, Zachary's is a neighborhood institution and never, ever, ever fails to come up to top marks. Noisy and crowded for a sit-down meal...so we always get take-out. Their half-cooked option is brilliant; when we travel, we take a couple...to finish cooking upon arrival, and the kids gobble them down.More
My family and I called in our order. The young man on the phone was very accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure our order was correct. This meant alot to us especially considering my vegetarian preferences. The food was hot, well seasoned...with fresh ingredients. I will definitely return.More
We had a large vegetarian pizza and caesar salad. Both were good. Ordered from our hotel about 9p. Delivery was slow, but the order was complee and they had included serviceware and extra cheese and hot flakes. Nice fellow delivered who deserved his big tip.
Great pizza and service when you get to the front of the line but that is the whole point of waiting for a little bit of time for the best deep dish pizza around.
