My colleagues and I needed a place to grab breakfast before a meeting in downtown Oakland. After having done business in Oakland for decades, it is great to see the resurgence in small businesses and restaurants. Not sure how long Aunt Mary has been in...More

Good traditional well prepared southern dishes. Hours are 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and breakfast is OK until close. It was very relaxed and pleasant. My wife and I had a late breakfast - she had eggs, corn bread and braised southern greens and I...More

Food: the special omelet was great with asparagus, mushroom, and goat cheese. The red pepper sauce was outstanding and unique. The ham in the ham/cheese omelet was good, not the pressed stuff. Strong coffee - yay! - without being too bitter. The bakhti chai was...More

Really nice place to have breakfast. I liked the vibe. The pancakes were great, coffee too. The service a bit slow.

I went here with a friend and it was pretty tasty. I really enjoyed the shrimp with grits. I could see trying a few more dishes in the future and the environment is very pleasing.

Really enjoyed the relaxed vibe - on a busy Saturday morning no less. Lots if interesting items to chose from...well presented and quite tasty. I think I have found a new "go to" brunch spot - despite the crowds!

Yes, you will probably have to wait on a busy Sunday morning, but take heart. This place is definitely worth it. I absolutely loved the cheddar cheese grits with a side of sausage. Took me back to the South. My husband's eggs with the trimmings...More
