:)Small place, with excellent food! We stayed three nights in Oakhurst and had dinner at Alice´s Cookhouse twice, because it was so good. The prices are reasonable and appropriate for the quality! I wish there were more places like that around my city.

Only in town for the weekend, wish I had tried dinner somewhere else. Had the pulled pork, beans, and slaw. Maybe it's a regional thing but the slaw had a too-mild flavor, beans and pulled pork were good but nothing special, and the toast was just a greasy bun top. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and I feel... More

After an active filled day, dinner at Alice's was perfect. We ordered at the window and then chose our table. The BBQ pork had been slow cooked and was delicious. The french fries crispy and hot. Our nephew enjoyed some Jambalaya and said he would order it again. If you want a beer or glass of wine there were a... More

Alice's cookhouse has some of the best BBQ beef sandwiches I have ever had, comes with sides and drinks are refillable.

Stopped by Alice's with an Oakhurst local for lunch. It was just after 1 p.m. & the restaurant was pretty quiet, & there was ample seating. The walkup counter gave it more of a "fast-food feel" than a "restaurant feel," as there were no servers, & everything was do-it-yourself. PROS: -Pulled pork tacos in lightly fried corn tortillas. These were... More

Visited Alice's cookhouse for a quick bite. It was not busy, it was 5pm, which was probably the reason food was served quickly. We had beef brisket and BBQ chicken. The beef had tasty flavors from the smoker! Chicken was good as well. Not to dry and spiced well. Large potato fries and chili beans as a side. Restaurant had... More

My friends and I stopped in for a late lunch and we enjoyed our meals. I would rate the restaurant as more of a Fast Food style but there is an area to sit down. The burger I had was delicious and huge and my friends enjoyed their Fish 'n' Chips and BBQ Ribs. You order at the counter and... More

Went in and noticed first thing that there isn't much seating room. Your best plan would be to take it out. The food; it was ok, certainly not the best BBQ we have had. But it was seriously overpriced for what you get. I wouldn't be back when in Oakhurst.

I usually love this restaurant and have been eating here for years. But my most recent visit was very disappointing. Showed up relatively early for dinner (5:45) but found that the restaurant was completely out of any form of beef. Also had no cornbread available. The side of chili was actually some overly sweet bbq beans, and the iced tea... More
