As a couple staying at the Sky Ranch, we decided to take a meal at the Branding Iron Restaurant, we took drinks at the bar while we reviewed the menu, at the bar the chef was chatting to other guests regarding the plans for the restaurant as he was trying to build up the reputation as apparently the previous owners... Be sure you check which days they are open, and be sure to go when they are! We loved our meals here - filet wellington, lamb, king salmon... All were excellently prepared, and the service was lovely. (Only suggestion: the Brussels sprouts needed more seasoning.)

The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff are great. The food was also plentiful. I'd say the only real negative is that for the price, I wasn't blown away by my meal. But if you're in the area and looking for something with a nice atmosphere, or at the ranch, I definitely recommend it.

Very expensive!! Example coffee $3.50 Worse was the birthday cake we brought they added a $30.00 service charge! Our party of five was seated on a long long table, and one side all wooden bench!! Good part = = best waitress !

The Branding Iron went through new ownership and remodeling. A year and a half later, the restaurant reopened. Our first chance was Father's Day, the food, presentation and service were outstanding. If any negative, it a little pricey for us locals and has a limited menu. The double cut pork chop was excellent.

The food was good (and reasonably priced) but the service and decor were great! We highly recommend it, especially after an exhausting day at Yosemite.

We ate at the Branding Iron on a Thursday evening in June 2016. The atmosphere was elegantly rustic. Not a large dining room, but it was not crowded the night we were there. It could get cozy if it were full. The staff were exceptional also and very attentive. They have a nice selection of wines with a very reasonable... More

This was suggested by The Narrow Gauge Lodge where we stayed, as they are sister properties with a chef that oversees both operations. Both restaurants are unique and something you would expect in any big city in the world, but certainly not in Yosemite National Park. Do yourself the favor of treating yourself to dinner here! Their sides, stuffed baked... More
