The ladies that run the show have it dialed. The bruschetta, the pasta with sausage, the bread pudding, delicious! It is the place to go!

We’ve been to Chianti Cucina numerous times, and have been pleased with the food and service each time. It does get noisy, and the tables are tightly packed, but the food is always good. On our most recent visit, we had to wait for a...table, although we had reservations. No big deal, but there’s nowhere to wait without being in the way, which is uncomfortable. Other than that, the food and especially the service were both really good. It’s a good go-to if you want to stay in town and have a special meal.More
I was at Chianti Cucina for a business dinner on a Wednesday night and it was really busy. We had reservations luckily and the service was good considering how busy they were. I had the salmon in white wine sauce and it was excellent. This...seemed to be a place the locals liked to eat at. There is a small parking lot, but plenty of parking on the street.More
We had cioppino, salmon, veal, and all was good. The crab cakes appetizer was really good, and the main regret is you only get two, but they were easily cut into halves for our group of four. The service was also very attentive. We were...there right at 5 when they opened, and it was nice and quiet. Even when more guests started arriving, it did not get too loud. I would definitely go back again. Maybe we'll have room for dessert next time.More
The food is good here, The atmosphere is fine , but they are trying too hard to be a snobby wine bar We aren’t big on wine and it seems to be pushy . Not in a hurry to return .
this is a great local spot! Our party of six was there on a busy Saturday night, we had reservations and were seated promptly in the small yet beautiful dining room. There were a couple of loud parties seated around us, so I think the...noise level that night was probably higher than usual. Our food was fresh, delicious and arrived shortly after we ordered. Our server was knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We had a great dining experience and will definitely return!More
I have been many times in the last year and a half. It is always great food and drink. Lovely wait staff, good menu and warm atmosphere. We always bring out-of-towners here for a treat. Italian food.
We hadn't been here in quite a while. We stopped in for a quick dinner before heading to see ZZ Top in Santa Rosa. We got seated with the explanation they would need the table in about an hour for a reservation. W said fine...as we hadn't made a reservation. We had Caesar salads (good), pizza, Pappardelle Carbonara and Vitello Saltimbocca. The Carbonara was flavorful and filling with good sauce and plenty of pancetta. The pizza was very good. The Saltimboccas were quite good, tender medallions of veal with prosciutto and provolone cheese and and a delicious brown sauce. The side vegetables were perfectly cooked. I would definitely return to Chianti Cucina; it's a very good option for Italian food in Novato. I am happy we "rediscovered" it.More
We went there recently for a casual Tuesday night out. The place was packed! It's a small place but they actually can comfortably seat quite a few people. Large groups really need to reserve ahead. The bar is fun and well stocked. The wine list...is excellent and reasonably priced. The food was divine!!! My honey had veal piccata and reluctantly gave me a taste. It was perfect! My cheese tortellini in alfredo sauce with pancetta was to die for! The portions were reasonable and we left happy. We'll definitely go back!More
Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Our go to place for a wonderful dinner. We have taken out of town guests there, and celebrated birthdays. Always good food and great service.
I loved Chianti Cucina.l. it's a very quaint very cozy restaurant. Because I was on my own the night I went there I sat at the bar for dinner. The owners hang around by the bar and talk to people and the staff was informative...and very attentive. I tried there Caymus Conundrum red blend wine. It was stunning very very smooth and full-bodied with a berry edge. I had their sweet corn soup, which was smooth creamy and absolutely delicious. For dinner I had their carbonara. I am picky when it comes to carbonara. Theirs was some of the best that I've had this side of Italy. Their pappardelle was fresh and super thin, the sauce was creamy and full of flavor, the pancetta was crispy and the onions were soft and delicious. For dessert I had a Limoncello cream parfait which was like frozen limoncello with a little bit of cream mixed in. A better way describe is a lemon cream freeze. I really enjoyed it. What I also enjoyed about Chianti Cucina was that the people were very friendly. Several people that came to the bar engaged me in conversation.More
Listen, It's hard to find a really good restaurant in Novato so this place gets extra applause for being the best restaurant in town. Went for dinner. Trying to stay with a seafood theme. A really good appetizer was the Calamari Calabrese. Really pleased it...was not the usual rubbery, breaded calamari we find at most restaurants. Nice red spicy sauce. The mussels were above average. We had seared scallops which were over-seared but still good. Others had the salmon which was under the broiler for too long but it crisped the surface a bit which is the way our family likes it. Nicely done if it was on purpose! The sides were mediocre. Desert offerings were mundane but the almond/walnut (no wheat) chocolate torte was a big hit. The lemon gelato was nicely intense. The price was reasonable. The service was below par. They just don't have enough staff. This place is no Poggio (Sausalito) or Cafe Paradiso (Petaluma) but if we want to eat locally and stay with Italian then this is a pleasant experience...especially in front of the fireplace.More
Chianti Cucina is my favorite restaurant in Novato. Whether is a quick dinner at the bar or a special occasion, Chianti is a can't miss. The food and service are always top rate and the owners are special people that understand the role they play...in the community. I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food or the experience at Chianti Cucina!More
When out with friends and we want a good, not to expensive and not to long dining experience this is where we go in Novato. The food is good, love their calamari. Of the last 5 times we have dined there, we were seated next...to other tables with extremely loud and vulgar diners, in one case we asked for a different table. Not the restaurant's fault, and it doesn't affect our decision to dine there, but something to keep in mind.More
My husband and I have eaten at Chianti Cucina several times. Our most recent visit was excellent. The atmosphere is upbeat and very Italian. It reminds us of the local restaurants we went to in Italy. They have reasonably priced wines. The food is very...authentic and delicious. We recently had a wonderful tomato gazpacho. The gnocchi is excellent as is the lasagne. Tiramisu with a double espresso is a great way to cap off an excellent meal. The only fault is sometimes they try to rush you and take dishes away before you are finished. My husband and I love to spend our time enjoying dinner so sometimes we feel a bit anxious trying to keep the bus boy from taking our plates prematurely.More
