Jocko's s used to be five stars- every single steak! Not anymore but they are still well priced, large portions and good to occasionally great. Sad that I now get better steaks elsewhere but I still enjoy this place and return every month.

My friends, wife, and I enjoyed another fabulous experience at Jocko's. We started with a drink in the lounge and were treated well by Jessica who mixed wonderful drinks. Then we were seated for another outstanding dinner. The Spencer Steak is their signature dish. I...ordered mine medium rare. It was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was as good as it gets. I would definitely go back again.More

I’ve been here three times with business associate friends. Good golly this place gives you generous and I mean overflowing huge. The dinner even comes with dessert if you can even think of it. There Are so many choices of meats. The specials are well...priced. The meat quality is absolutely stunningly delicious. Yes it’s a bit out-of-the-way. Yes it’s a little bit hard to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for. But please give this place a try. You will not be disappointed. FYI you have to make reservations at least a week in advance because the place is always packed. If you do run late be sure to call them and let them know otherwise they will give your table to somebody else after 15 minutes (?). Oh and by the way if you do order the lamb chops order them at least medium rare & no more than that. (one will fill you nicely). Be prepared to take a lot of food home with you because of the generous portions. You will have lunch for tomorrow easily. PS: While waiting for your table order some chicken strips (appetizers) at the bar. They are crazy delicious.More

This place was a stop on my tather's business route back in the 60's. I was in the area so it was a nostalgia stop I got there around 12:30 noon and place was moderately crowded, parking lot wasn't full, a lot of motorcycle enthusiast...were just leaving, I was seated quickly. I had the "jocko's dip" their version of the french dip. Nice crispy lettuce and carrot salad to start with blue cheese dressing on the side. My sandwich was served with their beans (good but no really tasty) and they sent it out with french fries (it was salad OR fries, I got both) the meat on the sandwich was sirloin and flavorful, roll was fresh the au jus a little sweet. service was friendly and prompt. The place hasn't changed much since the 60's and pleasantly so. It's not a 'high end hipster" steak house, it's a really straight forward rural steakhouse. not fancy, hip just santa maria rancher good. I wasn't there when the pit was burning, the waitress mentioned "come back when the pits on!": Next TIme.,. there are 4 great steak houses in the area: hitching post 1 & 2 , buelton, far western bar in orcutt and Jocko's all worth a visit and each a bit different.. enjoy!More

My wife and I love a great steak and Jocko’s has never disappointed us. We have been to a few high dollar steak houses throughout our travels and they’re good but in our opinion Jocko’s is the best hands down. Now if you haven’t been...to Jocko’s I’m sure you are wondering where it’s exactly located. Well it’s about 20 minutes or so south of Pismo Beach Ca. In the small little town of Nipomo Ca. Now make sure you make your reservations at least a week or two in advance or you probably won’t get to experience the best perfectly cooked Steak you have ever ordered. Go hungry and you’ll leave full. I promise !!!More

I don't care much for decorations. Jocko's has none. If you are looking for a great steak it is your place. They are know for the Spencer steak. If you are looking for fish try somewhere else.

It has been 17 years since we went to Jockos. This time we decided to go for breakfast but missed the cut off and decided on lunch. You can order off the dinner menu or lunch menu. Had the top sirloin sandwich. Stacked with slices...of tender steak on grilled garlic toast topped with salsa. A pile of hand cut fries and a cup of ranch beans. Tossed salad starter. All very good. Pat had the steak burger which was huge and juicy. No wait on a January sunday afternoon. Lots of parking. Highly recommended.More

Great food. The pork chop breakfast is amazing. Huge, thick pork chop. The service is really good. The people are friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Alright..... this is a hard one to write because it’s everything we would want in a steakhouse as far as steak is concerned, except the service and the interior. We went to Pismo last year and wanted a steakhouse.... long story short, didn’t find one...but upon checkout the next morning, the front desk clerk told us about Jocko’s. So we kept this name in our wallet for a year.... made our reservations and the day of starting looking at reviews, menus, and the photos. That’s when it got scary. Simply put, this is a Moose or Elks Lodge- basically..... cafeteria style interior, with a less than friendly young woman greeting. We sit down at our table - paper placemats and all.... surrounded by a table of 14 where the adults were louder than the children, and a family of four across from us. I had to ask my sweetie to sit next to me because I couldn’t hear him across the table. Father and son lining up their beer bottles on the table’s edge. We stayed.... ate... enjoyed our meal- I cannot lie about that. The table of 14 finally left, and was quickly replaced by another table of 14, and two tables of 8.... yes, they were together. The place is just too loud equivalent to a 5 year old’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. Great steaks though I’m not sure what the crackers and salsa is about....More

It's an old school funky steak house. You get what you get. I doubt they care about the "no gluten" fad. If you actually have celiacs disease don't go there.
