I love Alta. The coffee is good, the tea is great, deserts never disappoint. I sometimes have soup, then I still have room for one of the sublime deserts. The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back to Alta. It is homey, friendly, and eclectic. A little something for everyone, and great people watching. Music and readings at night. I... More

Ideal venue for early morning coffee, mid morning breakfast, afternoon lunch or dinner time good food and music. Small homely venue with inside and outside seating. Freshly baked goods and friendly family-type staff. All of their food is excellent quality and reasonably priced, and their coffee is great.

We rode our bikes over to Alta. It's a little cafe that has been in business for 30 years. We had breakfast here and ordered a scramble and bueno bowl. The pastries are good. Sometimes there is a line. Good priced.

My nephew brought me here for a brunch on a busy Friday. The service was so prompt and efficient. We had wraps, one vegetarian and a chicken. Taco chips on side. The coffee is excellent and the chai latte so great that we ordered two to go after the meal. This is a very popular place for folks of all... More

But the food could be hotter. On my recent visit, which was my second time here, I ordered the Zuni Stew which was almost lukewarm. Previously I tried the Albacore salad which was quite good. This is definitely a local hang out and has the friendly atmosphere that goes along with that. Not easy to get to by car and... More

Cool, well run coffee shop on a quiet street. This is a popular coffee spot for locals. It's a great place to grab a coffee and a decadent dessert. There is indoor seating and an inviting patio. The service is friendly and efficient. Great spot when you want a great coffee and a sweet.

Compared to the east, in SoCal, you do not really have very good coffee shops around. Alta is different though. It has a very chilling, relaxed and interesting environment. They have a few shelves with books. You can pick and take any book you want; you just need to leave one there for others. The coffee is great. There is... More

I've given this place a try several times because I am a local resident and want to support local business but each time I was quite disappointed. The food is average to below average and the prices are ridiculous. Nearly $4.00 for a dry scone. Are you kidding? Plus the service is never good. There are plenty of other coffee... More

Average coffee, great scones, terrible rules, terrible parking, meaner than snot. One more time I tried. One more time I left feeling like my very prescence was a bother. My hipster sons go here so I broke down and gave it another try. They told me it would be different. Maybe for them. They are sun kissed, cut, Eurasian gods,... More

this is a small, quaint, coffee place with a complete menu to breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is casual, 1/2 outdoors, local spot
