Touristy on Sunday mornings, as in 100% tourists including children, many baby strollers, and plethora grey hairs in floppy straw hats. There's a cafe-branded shuttle bus to assist with the .2 mile walk from the parking lot to the cafe (shuttlebus = red flag). VERY long wait - we arrived at 9:40 am, and after 8 minute wait to see... 5:00 somewhere, be there for the Bugle blowing tradition! Get there early, enjoy a cocktail with the sweet sound of the waves serenading in your ears! After dinner take a romantic stroll along the rich California Coastline! Unforgettable peaceful place! Oh by the food is really good!🍔

Just finished a marginal meal. If this is one of the best restaurants in Newport Coast head to Laguna where there seem to be plenty of phenomenal restaurants to choose. Started with very watered down Margaritas, their specialty! Calamari appetizer was the highlight primarily because of the Kung Pao sauce. Scallops main course was wrapped primarily in bacon fat, very... More

This is the perfect place to be for sunset. Perfect atmosphere. There's a beach house feeling, with honest food. Good for breakfast too!

I'm biased; this place is my favorite restaurant to visit in the OC. 2nd only to the Beach House in Poipu Beach, Kauai, but hey, you can't beat the location. Food is always first class and reasonable considering the location. This is not Ruby's people, even though they run it. Don't miss the Ahi Tacos.....

Lived not too far from The Beachcomber and visited today for first time. Boy was I missing out. Had a fabulous breakfast. We started with the beignets, which were wonderful. They are lighter than those in New Orleans, but still yummy. They are dusted with powdered sugar and served with syrup (which we didn't use) and whipped cream. We had... More

This is far and away the best... On the beach, indoor and outdoor seating. The French toast is amazing. Don't miss it cause they stop at 11. Great service

OK, I'm just a sucker for any place named "The Beachcomber", and there are plenty. But on a recent visit to Southern California I found one on the higher end of the spectrum. Not just a beach drinking spot (i.e. Beachcomber Wellfleet, MA, which I still love for different reasons) but a place in a an old beach community that... More

This s one of the few restaurants on the beach in Southern CA. They do not take reservations, however they give you a beeper. The first thing we did was put our name in, and then we walked and hung out at the beach for 1 and 1/2 hours. The food was fabulous. Everyone in my family of four enjoyed... More

I highly recommend sitting outside. Make reservations...they do take some. Sitting inside can be very loud. The food, no matter what you order, is outstanding. Great to order lots of things and share.
