We went to the Beachcomber Restaurant located on the Beach in Chrystal Cove. We went during the week, was told that weekends are Very crowded and busy. They don't take reservations. The food was really good. It is outdoor patio dining, with a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Service was good.

This was our favorite culinary experience during our 3 day trip to Newport Beach. We loved the brunch and were so full by the end. The portions were huge! My husband had the Ranchero omelet (he didn't want to eat until the next day!) and I had the crab cake Benedict. Don't leave without trying the beignets too! They are... More

During our week long stay in Newport, we had the pleasure of dining here for a breakfast and 2 lunches. The beignets are amazing, the Huavo Rancheros were superb and the shrimp tacos were awesome. One notch down for the Bacon Steak sandwich which is really Pork belly and woudl be better served without the bread and the Ahi Tuna... More

First time visitor to Newport Beach area, chanced upon this little restaurant. It was a cool (by Southern California standards), but we ended up getting seated in the sun, so it was great. Beautiful view of the beach, the Christmas tree, and the quaint little cottages alongside the restaurant. The ambiance could not be beat - especially because I came... More

Historic Crystal Cove colony preserves the romantic California beach culture of the past in a unique restored cafe and cottages on a special stretch of the California coast. The Beachcomber serves wonderful updated beach shack food in style. We loved the ahi poke salad and the Kobe burger. The wine list is unusually expensive so we enjoyed $7 beers. Validated... More

The view of the pacific is great, the staff friendly, but the quality and variety of the food do not justify the price. Need to reserve a table by the patio fence to avoid other customers blocking your view. The other issue is parking; you have to take the shuttle from the parking area, though for only a short distance.... More

We had the calamari for a starter and it was excellent. My husband had the ahi poke salad and it was great too. My chicken salad sandwich was okay but not great, and the fries were not good.

Good food and service also expensive ... probably better during the day to take advantage of views. Best to take shuttle from hotel...but last one from Marriott Newport Coast Villas is at 7 pm...so we had to Uber back.

Hidden in a little cove on a Southern California beach, there sits this amazing little gem. Surrounded by quaint cottages that transport one back to the days when regular folk could get away to their tiny cottage on the beach, there sits the Beachcomber Cafe. Excellent food, wonderful service, drinks are spectacular. We were served by Jimmy who was attentive... More
